I checked this on the espn trade machine and I think this would work

Bass for Nick Collison, Perry Jones, Andre Roberson, future lotto protected 1rst

I think something like this works for both sides and this is why; Bass will only help us win games and get in the way of our younger players developing, which isn't something we need. But he can help some other team and he's an expiring. OKC has tons of young mediocre forwards like these guys that get very little playing time and they just drafted two more (Mitch McGary and Josh Heustis). These young kids have renewable contracts so they need not make too much money with us for too long either, but we get more youth to check out.

I think there are things on both sides of this trade to like.

I think at least we have to think this way. A contender trading some youth for a vet that can help.

Another similar thing I found would be
Pacers get Bass
Celts get Solomon Hill, C Copeland, Donald Slone, and picks

OKC is not giving up all of those assets for a guy who's essentially an inferior version of Ibaka on offense without the Ibaka defense.

I think he'd be an upgrade on Collison. I think. Hopefully they think it. And those assets aren't blowing away anyone

(1) Bass to OKC

I think this is a good idea for Oklahoma. Bass gives OKC some extra bench offense. Right now Ibaka is their only jump-shooting big which leaves their spacing vulnerable whenever he is on bench. Bass solves that. Bass capable of playing PF alongside big bodied centers like Perk or Adams and also capable of playing PF alongside Ibaka at C in speed lineup. Gives OKC improved offense and lineup flexibility.

Oklahoma are very fond of Nick Collison though and with good reason. He is a very good defensive PF and very capable backup center. Smart team defender. Good passer. High BBIQ. Really good teammate. Been with the team a long time. Well respected in locker room. OKC have been loyal to many key players. So unsure whether they do this but it's definitely worth consideration on their part. Good trade idea.

They won't give up the draft pick though. I think a Collison for Bass swap by itself is fairly even. By the time you throw in a few cap fillers (like Perry Jones), I reckon that's it. All Ainge can get out of OKC.

(2) Bass to Pacers

I think this is a very good home for Indiana and for Bass. The Pacers had a lot of trouble matching up with teams that had big men who could step out on the perimeter and some trouble with teams like Miami who went small on them. Bass is a big improvement over Luis Scola in those areas.

I would think the trade would need to be changed to Scola + filler for Bass. They couldn't afford both Scola and Bass. The Pacers also have a payroll situation going on. A contract extension for Lance Stephenson could put them up against the luxury tax so their willingness to take on an extra mil or two for Bass could be effected by that. Boston might have to eat Chris Copeland's contract ($3mil) to make a Bass deal happen while allowing Indy to avoid luxury tax -- but if Ainge did that then Ainge could surely get a first round draft pick out of Indiana for his troubles. Fair chance at late first without Copeland too. Certainty with Copeland.

Strong possibility for Bass trade here.

Can't see a 1st coming back in any Bass trade. No way. He would be good on IND and OKC though.

I'm not sure if the Thunder would agree if the pick involved was going from Boston to OKC.

Bass has to go.

Bass has to go.

If the Celtics are interested in going after a big free agent in the summer of 2015, arguably, he has to stay.

Not if he is traded for a 2nd round draft pick or a trade exception.

Either of Nick Collison and the lottery-protected first is alone more value than Brandon Bass, and you want to tack them together, and add PJ3 on top? LOL.

I dont think Nick Collison is more valuable than Bass... But i do agree that getting a first rounder for Bass isnt happening... But Bass for Nick Collison and PJ3 is only slightly lopsided in our favor..

OKC jump that trade IMO.

Three useless players and (25+) pick for Bass. Very good for conterder team.

We don't need these players. I'm ok with pick :)

Westbrook/Jackson
XXX/Lamb
Durant
Ibaka/Bass
Perk/Adams/McGary

But.. looks like, they need a backcourt player..

Pacers-Bass not make sense...
