I would love to see the Celtics pursue him via trade if possible. In the last year of his rookie deal making 6 million. Seems to be just now coming into his own as a legit center at 22 years old.  Would be a great piece to team with all these young guys.

Favors

All 23 and under - might be a long rebuild, but that 5 intrigues me for some reason.

Fair enough, just throwing it out there.  Plus, you can add any assets we would get from a potential rondo trade and our picks.  Great starting point IMO.

Meant to add - this kid was supposed to be special, and still very well could be.  #3 pick overall, averaged 14 pts, 8 Rebs and 1.5 blocks at 21-22. Not bad.

Boston won't get him. Utah has Favors in their long term plans, as evidenced by the $48M/4yr extension they already gave him earlier this season.

id definitely rather have him than Greg Monroe whos been a name mentioned so much around here.

Utahs not gonna give him up though, unless its a really lopsided offer or he requests a trade

I think it would take a lot to get Favors.  I like him, but I thought he would have improved at a much faster rate than he has.

james young is a shooting guard / swingman. he is 6'6. im not sure if i view him as a 3.

Young's main position would be the 3, I think it may be harder to call him a 2. Unless he learns how to use his length to be a sound defender he would get killed by the athleticism and shorter guys at the 2 whereas the 3 he can atleast stand tall with them..

Young is more a 3 than 2 at this point. if he can get his defensive game really good then we can excel at both

Yeah, pretty sure he signed an extension last season.

Really don't foresee us having a good enough package to get him that wouldn't cost us our two arms and legs.

Ed Davis - poor mans Favors.

Flat foot at the combine, Davis is .25 inches taller.  Favors has a 9'2 standing reach, Davis 9'0"

Davis would at least help us on defense and protect the paint.

if derrick won't be an option... why not go for his backup, enes kanter? (backup according to espn and yahoo depth chart)..
Kanter's up for a contract extension too..

Kanter also just had or will soon have a platelet-rich plasma injection on his knee, similar to what Kobe had done.
