I love Noah and was glad he made 1st team all-NBA but other than passing, the Chief was better at everything.  And imagine guys like Gortat or Asik trying to run with Parish.

That's with strong defense. Today, he'd start his career at 19 or 20, not 23 and have 4 extra years to accumulate stats.

Think of him vs Al Jefferson, Hibbert, Perk, Bargnani, etc. His skill set would translate well. Size and speed and reach . . . shooting touch. He'd translate well.

Good point. Pretty much everyone back then took set shots and dribbled with only one hand. The only reason Isiah dribbled with both hands is because, by the time he came along, the game had changed. That's true for everyone.

Well, I won't jump on the dogpile that we're making out of Isiah right now...at least until he gives his reasoning on WHY he feels that way.

  In a way, this is why I liked the nba in the 80s. Rivalries were real. Isiah hated the Celts enough then that he still hates them now.

The Chief would dominate in this era. He would immediately be the best center in the NBA.

That's what I'm thinking .....I missed very few games when he was in his prime.

Right now , with the lack of true dominate centers .....he would rule .  He d have Howard so frustrated , he'd be crying.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird have "co-written" a new book about their lives in the NBA that, among other things, paints a not very flattering portrait of their sometime rival Isiah Thomas

According to interviews Thomas gave to Sports Illustrated this week, the biggest head turner in the book is the claim?made by Magic and his agent, Lon Rosen?that after Johnson was diagnosed with HIV in 1991, Thomas was the one spreading rumors that Magic might have contracted the virus because he was gay.


"Isiah kept questioning people about it,'' Magic says. "I couldn't believe that. The one guy I thought I could count on had all these doubts. It was like he kicked me in the stomach.''

You're right Isiah. Parish couldn't play in today's era because he's now 60 years old!!

In his prime, he'd be one of the best centers in the NBA in any era.
