a very fast 7' with a 9' + release point on a deadly 15 footer would eat Dwight Howard's lunch.

I love Noah and was glad he made 1st team all-NBA but other than passing, the Chief was better at everything.  And imagine guys like Gortat or Asik trying to run with Parish.

And if Asik can play big minutes in today's NBA, does anyone think Chief couldn't??

In 14 years as a Celtic, from age 27 to 40, Parish averaged:
31 MINS, .552 FG%, 10.0 Reb,   1.5 AST, 0.8 STL, 1.5 BLK, 2.2 TO, 2.8 PF, 16.5 PTS

That's with strong defense. Today, he'd start his career at 19 or 20, not 23 and have 4 extra years to accumulate stats.

Think of him vs Al Jefferson, Hibbert, Perk, Bargnani, etc. His skill set would translate well. Size and speed and reach . . . shooting touch. He'd translate well.

Isiah Thomas is a moron!! Great ball player, but has not done anything right since, listening to him is like listening to Sean Hannity - lowers your IQ!

Sean Hannity at least has an excuse. What is Isiah's?

Disagree, both Sikma and Chief would be great today.

With Cousy, no assumption that he'd adapt?

Good point. Pretty much everyone back then took set shots and dribbled with only one hand. The only reason Isiah dribbled with both hands is because, by the time he came along, the game had changed. That's true for everyone.

Well, I won't jump on the dogpile that we're making out of Isiah right now...at least until he gives his reasoning on WHY he feels that way.

I'm willing to listen to any comments and criticisms on past or present Celtics...THEN I'll do a Fat Albert Buck Buck jump on that dogpile! :)

Respect da Chief!

If Chief could not play today, so would have Mahorn, Laimbeer and Salley.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Isiah is a bitter man, I suppose.

In a way, this is why I liked the nba in the 80s. Rivalries were real. Isiah hated the Celts enough then that he still hates them now.

yeah players today are all friends because they're all going to likely play with each other at some point.

I miss the old NBA.

Or might end up coached by each other, such as Kidd coaching KG and Pierce or now Fisher as a coach.

I don't think Thomas could coach or GM in the league ever.

The Chief would dominate in this era. He would immediately be the best center in the NBA.

That's what I'm thinking .....I missed very few games when he was in his prime.

Right now , with the lack of true dominate centers .....he would rule .  He d have Howard so frustrated , he'd be crying.

Zeke could ball, but he is:

 1. a terrible evaluator and decision maker about talent (how'd your stint as GM work out for you, chump)

2. and a piece of crap as a human being...just ask Magic

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird have "co-written" a new book about their lives in the NBA that, among other things, paints a not very flattering portrait of their sometime rival Isiah Thomas

Quote
According to interviews Thomas gave to Sports Illustrated this week, the biggest head turner in the book is the claim?made by Magic and his agent, Lon Rosen?that after Johnson was diagnosed with HIV in 1991, Thomas was the one spreading rumors that Magic might have contracted the virus because he was gay.

"Isiah kept questioning people about it,'' Magic says. "I couldn't believe that. The one guy I thought I could count on had all these doubts. It was like he kicked me in the stomach.''

[quoteMagic basically admits that Isiah was shut out of the Olympic Dream Team because no one wanted to play with him. He also blames the whole "Jordan freeze out" at the '85 All-Star Game on Thomas too.][/quote]

Two sides to a story. Judge for yourself.

Isiah Thomas' smugness reminded me a lot of Ray Leonard. Hated them both.

Once a punk, always a punk!!

You're right Isiah. Parish couldn't play in today's era because he's now 60 years old!! ;D

In his prime, he'd be one of the best centers in the NBA in any era.
