Even "IF" the C's don't make ANY moves over the next week or so, I'll still watch them forever.

Next season, with the roster as is, we're still looking at a 7th or 8th seed.

I'm still holding out hope that something happens after July 1st. If it doesn't then I look forward to seeing Jared play and get more minutes, KO's growth, and us getting a Center somehow.

As long as we're not revisiting the Lean Years I'm happy with the roster's progress. And with Danny at the helm, no more Lean Years (late 80's - Mid 2000s) for this team.

Did I mention our multiple picks over the next few years? :)

I know almost everyone is negative these days, but I think a healthy, motivated team that is starting Olynk, Sullinger, Green, Smart, and Rondo, with possible bench players of Wallace, Young, Pressey, Vitor, Humphries, Bradley and Bass will likely make the playoffs in the awful East. Now I think this because I like Olynk;  think Rondo will be much better and Smart will look a lot like a rookie Dwayne Wade.

Anyone who thinks Kelly sucks will probably think this is idiotic, as I too don't see this working either unless on offense KO is on the perimeter and having a 18-8-3 season at about 34 minutes a game. Sullinger will have to get down low and stop throwing up long balls.

I don't think we will see Stevens  going with bizarre rotations that make it appear he is try to lose, or Rajon coming in and throwing the ball away late in a close game, as we did much of last year. I think this is a 36 to 40 win team. I just don't think there should be any instinct to tank at this point.

This team would win 2-3 more games than last year's team -- maybe

I always enjoy rooting for the young guys.

This year I will root for them to win. Not going to worry about ping pong balls.

Yes. I love watching young players develop. I think this is going to be a great year.

Once we trade Rondo.

The same thing in every freaking thread. Just stop. It's going to be a great year for tanking if Rondo is traded. Hopefully they get the first pick this time.

Bad basketball is NEVER entertaining.

I could provide all sorts of examples of bad that are entertaining.  Watching my daughters (neither gifted) try to shoot baskets when they were little was very entertaining.

For real though -- I agree that if the C's are bad they'll be hard to watch, but I think there will be some good and entertaining b-ball, even if the roster stays as is.

You'll be rather disappointed.  Rondo isn't going to be traded.  Rondo's value is relatively low right now, and it's very unlikely Danny will get an appealing offer.  Can you name a team that would be willing to: (1) offer an acceptable package to meet Danny's trade demands; (2) forfeit these assets for a 1-year rental for Rondo without certainty of him resigning; and (3) accept the risk that Rondo may never return to his former self?

It's the same story every year.  And the last time I checked, Rondo still wears green and white.

Actually the story is quite different this year.

If Danny doesn't trade Rondo, he will walk with no return.

Big incentive to trade Rondo by the trade deadline.

What's your beef with Rondo?  It's getting pretty old.

i know everyone is entitled to their own opinions and i respect that. insisting on trading rondo in every thread won't make it happen sooner, though.

can't wait to see how this year's team will develop and gel together.

How sure are you? What if Rondo decides to stay? rondo is not wired as a lot of NBA players.

Bad basketball is NEVER entertaining.
effort is entertaining.  effort in the regular season was missing since Sheed joined.  lack of effort = bad basketball

going to a game last year was more enjoyable because at least they played hard rather than those atrocious friday night games where they'd go through the motions and get their butts kicked by the likes of the Nets, Knicks, Raptors and Philly.
Thank you for waking me up.  I always tried to rationalize those Friday night loses on things like they just came back from a road trip and/or they were tired from visiting loved ones, etc.  Now I see the light...they just didn't put in the effort.  They basically took the night off.  They could have easily beaten those teams.  Instead, they just went through the motions.  Don't know why I didn't think of that at the time.
not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.

in any case, it was infuriating going to those games from the 2009-2010 season through the 2012-2013 season and see lackadaisical effort on the court when so many people were paying a lot of money of tickets to see them play.  so many losses those years to teams that were so clearly inferior.  that lack of effort came back to bite them in the 2010 finals when they didn't have home court advantage over the Lakers

Didn't happen.

I agree 100% I feel like we are truly a good C away from contending in the East. With a young and athletic core we can cause problems for contenders with matchup problems. Just look at the Hawks, Wizards and Raptors. Hell even the Bobcats made the playoffs. Difference is we already have an AllStar with a lot of playoff experience, I think with a true Center we can slide anywhere from 4-8th seed and become a serious match up problem for the Heat and Pacers
