Why even bother offering that ? of course it would be turned down.

Chris Mannix on Celtics Beat

Chris Mannix and Kyle Draper were on Celtics Beat today. Interesting stuff. Some bullet points from Mannix here:

*Celtics offered 6 and Sullinger for 1. Cleveland didn't take it seriously.

*No direct knowledge of what Celtics will do with Rondo, but having both Smart and Rondo doesn't make sense long term. Two point guards that can't shoot.

*Young a good pick, but has a lot of question marks.

*Celtics will still go after Kevin Love. Can't compete with an offer that includes Klay Thompson, but Danny is still going to go after it.

*Every conversation Mannix has had within Celtics organization has been about the Celtics trying to get that one star to build around.

*No chance Brad Stevens cuts-and-runs from the Celtics even if the team continues to flounder. He's here for the long haul.

*Keep an eye on Chandler Parsons. Wouldn't be surprised if Boston tries to make a big offer to at least make Houston match an offer on him.

*Don't expect Gordon Hayward to go anywhere. Utah likes him and they will likely match almost any offer.

Kyle Draper also said that if Exum was on the board with Smart - Boston still would've picked Smart. Gordon was the guy who they'd pick if all there were available though.

Oh, and both predicted 30-35 wins for the team next year barring a major trade, which they don't see happening.

Here's a link to the whole show and interview with Mannix and Draper:

Why bother offering? Seriously?

Doing due diligence.

I don't mind occasionally sending out a signal about a guy I believe in. You make the case you think Sully is THAT good. Then at some point he turns out pretty good and people come back to you and you let them know they had their chance and you still remember that.  Pros and cons.

Depends how much he's asking. We already got a guy named Jeff Green who gets paid a fat check who plays the same position. If we get rid of Green, I'll throw 8-9 mil a year at Parsons, no interest in having both though.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

My guess is they are still around the 25 mark, like last year.
