scenerio: Danny lies , i mean can't find trading partners and makes no additional moves.  Does not resign AB, Humprhies, JB.

The starting lineup

C- Colton Iverson - 7.0" tall with a 7'2 wingspan and 9'2 reach (Drummond has a 9'1.5 reach). Bc no way Anthony can start and Faverani is recovering from injuries and not ready at all to even play.   Danny likes centers like Perkins, Iverson.  Strong guys , able to punish their opponents underneath the basket, take a beating (post play, other players jumping into them).  Iverson worse case doesn't turn over the ball, doesn't look lost out there,  slows down the man he is guarding, clogs the middle and do a decent job with rebounding, blocking shots, setting excellent picks, taking charges, excelling in garbage situations (tip ins, dunks)

PF - Jared Sullinger - high iq,  excellent rebounding pf that also has skills out on the perimeter.  Due to conditioning issues he didn't play well on  a consistent basis. This year hoping alot more from a better conditioned Sully.

SF - Jeff Green - We should expect the same kind of play/production from last season.  And if we don't nitpick so hard , Green is a decent SF in the nba. It could be worse we could have someone like a Pj Tucker or Matt Barnes from the LAC instead.

SG - Marcus Smart - 6'4 with a 6'9 wingspan 225 pound guard.   Dwade is a 6'4 220 guard and he is considered pretty big for his size.  Smart is an Aaron Gordon , guard version. Just all over the court, being a defensive playmaker, guarding 3 different positions (uncommon for a PG/SG to be able to do).  Skilled on the offensive end also.  Fiery competitor

PG - Rajon Rondo - This is a better lineup for Rondo to Work with vs last seasons. Rondo also hopefully is back to full health.  What Rondo has to do is by the trade deadline is help this team have a better record vs the record they had in 2013 by the trade deadline.  If Rondo can't lead this team to some more wins, when is he able going to?  Some type of improvements should occur

Bench - 2nd unit

KO - Most of the time , KO and Sullinger will finish games together.  KO will be one of the first players off the bench. We will require him to provide some big time offensive production off the bench.

Young - When Jeff Green is napping, will come in and provide instant floor spacing. Deadly shooter and has underrated scoring skills.  Also the 3 point specialist we have been looking for ever since Ray Allen left

Pressey
Johnson
Bass
Wallace

What record does this lineup finish with? Playoffs out of the question?

A few things,

- Colton Iverson will never start a game for the celtics as he blows.

- I hope Bass gets traded because he deserves better.

- Green too, maybe Green/Bass a pick for a center?

- Faverani might get some spot time at Center next year if healthy.

- If we don't make major trades to assemble a new big 3 I plead ainge to go nuclear on this thing and blow it up fully. Trade rondo, green, bass, etc. Go young lose a ton, end up with a top 4 pick next year.

You start Kelly Olynyk.  Yes it's not ideal defensively but offensively it's pretty awesome.  Olynyk wasn't really any worse than anyone else we played at C on defense anyways, it turns out.  And he spaces the floor and can pass.

If we are playing Rondo and Smart we will need shooting and Olynyk really fits the bill.  He will also open up the paint for Rondo and Smart to attack too, and work well in pick and roll with them, in addition to Sullinger.

I like Iverson's potential to give us some minutes (he can be a solid bench big I think) and maybe next year but I wouldn't like him to start (and don't see it happening, either).

Colton Iverson's NBA comparison is Jason Jennings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Jennings_(basketball)

a player drafted in the 2nd round and who never played in the NBA. lol i have no idea why we wasted a pick on that guy unless danny was thinking of tanking.

Why do people keep calling Smart 6'4?

He has been measured.  6'2 without shoes.  6'3.25 with shoes.  In no way does that round up to 6'4.  He is 6'3, and is in no way ready to be a starting SG in the NBA.

He'll be the starting PG when we trade Rondo ;)

Iverson will start the game to set the tone/toughness on the defensive end. Like Perkins does for OKC. A role player starting to slow down the opposing starting player is not uncommon.

Again not ideal to do this but as of right now I rather start Iverson vs Sullinger/KO. Iverson played very well in turkey, gained 5 pounds of muscles, lost 5 pounds of fat, looks just as strong, more mobile and athletic than the last time we saw him.

Ainge imo has faith in Iverson. Not to start but at least make the team for this upcoming season

Probable starting lineup without trades....Rondo, Young, Green, Olynyk, and Sullinger.

The lineup I would like to see.....Smart, Young, Green, Greg Monroe, Olynyk.

Iverson thing is a joke. You'd see that faverani start well before that.

I wouldn't rule out KO taking the PF spot from Bass if he keeps up his late game shooting. I don't have a lot of faith in sully at this point.  It's always a bad sign when a player gains weight as the season progresses.  Should be a nice role player off the bench.

Also... With our bricklaying smart/rondo back court, you will need Oly out there spreading the floor and keeping bigs out of the paint so those guys can penetrate.

So a guy who barely cracks 15 mins a game in the Turkish League is gonna walk in and the the starting center for the C's?? Aaaahhh. Yeah, not gonna happen. Iverson is not very good. There's a better chance the C's sign a cheap veteran like Okafor or Anderson etc than Iverson starting for the C's.

Without any fireworks = tank

Thus, rookies must start - develop and get ready to be traded or 4 years down the road be part of a title chase.

This leads to Smart at the PG, why wouldn't Ainge want him at the point? He's cheap, under contract and will do nothing but go up in value on the trade market as he develops. Nowhere to go but up. On the bench? Why? At the shooting guard position? Why? He's the 6th pick over all, he's the next point guard, he needs to play point guard. He's not a 'shooting guard' with that shot.

So Ainge is shooting for the 6th pick again? Why? So he can miss one of the top 3 players next year? Sure, start Iverson at center and Young at the two....Celtic's college all stars part II.

I would prefer fireworks over this scenario....I watch all the games and that su*&%d last season.

2014 Starters: Rondo, Bradley, Green, Sullinger, Olynyk
