Sounds like Miami is really scrambling to keep Lebron.

First drafting Shabazz Napier and now this.

Lowry would be an upgrade at PG however.

Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.!  To quote Simmons, why do teams keep helping the Heat?  Lowry is too good to be had for cash and crappy draft picks.

I know, I love when Simmons said that!

And it's true.

It seems like they can just get any player they want.

While they're at it, they should just name Lebron the GM.

Seems like whatever player he wants, Miami bends over to get.

I'll believe it when I see it, I know Raptor fans love Lowry and the team is on record as making him their #1 priority this ofseason.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Bleacher Report, while improved as a website is still a sketchy source.

Unless (a) Lowry is S&T for Bosh and/or (b) Lowry, Bosh and Wade take BIG paycut they can't just trade him for Cole and picks.

Even if they opt out, Wade, Bosh and Lebron count as cap holds of ~$60M (of a $68M cap) until they resign.

All that said if Lowry said to me as GM of TOR "I want to sign w MIA" I'd say "OK... See ya". There's no way I'm helping my conf rival get better.

It's more like Pat Riley can get anyone he wants for nothing.  Remember when Jerry West got him Mychal Thompson in the biggest ripoff this side of Pau Gasol?  I believe Bill Bertka described that 'acquisition' as, "the greatest bargain since the Louisiana Purchase."  Screw all of them haha.

He basically has been in the past.

I think the trade might be for Bosh. Bosh returns to Toronto.

So... It doesn't matter if he wasn't very good when he was younger.  He's a good player now and just led his team to the playoffs.

That's why I miss Red. Back in the late 70s/80s, he pulled some rabbits out of a hat with some of the trades he made to get guys like McHale, Parish, DJ, Bill Walton and the chance to draft the late Lenny Bias.

As their mascot  ;D  Haha that would be the perfect role for him when he retires.

Bucher just retracted the whole Lowry-to-Miami deal via Twitter -- says his source misled him.
