Marcus Smart 1st Tweet as a Celtic:

I'm honored and blessed to be welcomed to a team w such tradition and success. And a city as tough as Boston. #BOSTONSTRONG #BLEEDGREEN

This kid gets it on day one.

I enjoy his quote under his name as well...says a lot about his mindset

"Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will."

I am exited about his attitude too. He will love it in Boston.

At the same time, Young stated at his presser he knows nothing about the Celtics. Not a great start.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

It might just mean that his agent understands Boston.  If I were a player agent, I would be advising my clients on what to put out there on social media to pander to fans and create pressure on front offices to treat them well.

James Young just doesn't seem like a bright kid...

Yeah, I guess 3 and 33 are out.

Well it certainly won't be his college number (#33)

Not trying to be negative or anything, but what else is he supposed to say? "Oh this sucks!" or "Let's see how this goes" or nothing at all?

It's a common thing to praise the franchise that drafted you. Doesn't really say much. Didn't Pierce say a lot of good things about Boston when we was drafted even though he was a big Lakers fan (and as a result, probably didn't like the Celtics much)?

He wore 3 in high school -- 2 of his brothers played basketball and all of them wore the same number in high school. He switched that to 33 in college because 3 was not available (his brother died at 33, that's how he picked).

So we'll see -- he's not having either of those two, and he sure as heck is not having 6 (where he was drafted) :P

Can't even add the two and give him 6. Can't multiply 3x3 and give him 9....Unless......

Makes no sense to me, who cares what Young did or didn't say at a press conference? Not everyone is a Celtics fan.

Really though, who cares what any of them say in a press conference? All I care about is how these guys play once the season begins.

He could go the Naked Gun route and pick 33⅓.  ;D
