Gordon Hayward has long been a name that comes up when talking about targets for the Celtics's this off-season. Can you still see him fitting in?
I don't know what happened to the proposed Jeff Green deal that was ready to go. But Hayward would help spread the floor at the SF position with his outside shooting especially if the plan is really to play Rondo and Smart together.
Add Olynyk as a stretch 4, I personally am very high on Olynyk and think he is a much better long term piece over Sully.
Can Green, Bass, etc be used to get a legit C for rim protection and rebounding?

It all depends how much he makes, I would trade him for Jeff Green and a pick then stick him at small forward. However, I'm not sure they should be committing the amount of money they would probably have to pay to sign him at this stage in our rebuild.

Gordon Hayward blows compared to Rondo. And Hayward is the kind of player bad teams sign to a large contract and continue to be bad.

If you want to make the money work you could easily trade for him without including rondo.

Besides the difference in assists, (which I think can be explained away by Rondo taking the majority of assists when he played, and Jeff Green not being asked to facilitate much of the offense) I really don't understand why people view Hayward as an upgrade.

Don't we want to avoid locking ourselves into long term contracts for expendable players? Or have I not been keeping up close enough?

I would bet the opposite with Stevens pulling for him.   I think Green will be shipped out to Washington.
