At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

We get your point. How many threads are you going to start to communicate Rondo hate? Some of the worst trolling ever.

Just pointing out how smart Danny is.

We should be able to get a pretty good player for Rondo.

I'm confused though. Since Rondo stinks, why would anyone trade anything for him outside of a bag of basketballs?

+1

If he's truly so terrible why would anyone give up anything for him? He's what the 30th PG in the NBA I believe you said? Something like that.

The Smart pick gives Danny flexibility if he decides to trade Rondo, or if RR leaves in free agency.  I doubt that was the impetus behind the pick, but it's a side benefit, I suppose.

I don't think there's much of a reason to celebrate a potential Rondo trade, though.  If a team needs three star players to win, a Rondo trade would take us from one such player down to zero.  That doesn't make me want to fist pump.

Smart enough that he's still got Rondo on his roster.

I think he also has to be looking at if Bradley leaves as well.

Every indication is that Danny is preparing to have clear books for 2015 so that he can try and get Rondo + another player, or can fully rebuild if Rondo leaves. Barring a Kevin Love sort of trade I think that he'll keep the books pretty clear for the future.

I really don't even believe your a Celtics fan at this point SMH. How you spend all your spare time hating a player on the team you embrace? Rondo is top tier talent. Yea maybe his ceiling is when he got stars around him. That's why were trying to set him up to reach his ceiling. Marcus smart ain't a replacement for Rondo. Thats on a plan "B" basis.  He will primarily bring assurance for Bradley's future, at the same if Rondo doesnt work out, your still safe at the guards spot.

The way the the future FA classes will be, we have a better chance signing a Elite Big then an Elite Guard or S.Forward. Smart was clearly the BPA.  If he works out, We can pick up a nice FA without  having to sacrifice future prospects like Smart.

Just like the Love with the wolves, Rondo is ours for a whole season.  We got this whole season to develop our players, and get to recruiting. Ainge isn't stupid. Trading Rondo is a last resort but he is playing is cards in a way his prospects will synchronize with or without Rondo. RONDO SMART BRADLEY going to be a tough defensive minded back court. IF we bring in a rim protector half way through the season, all the Rondo BS will be gone. IF your such a C's fan then embrace your players. Even the Lakers loved Luke!

If rondo had a team like the clippers roster or even the Nets, that man would do severe damage. Whats your favorite player doing??

Shouldn't be its own thread, but the point is fair.

Or a Bradley upgrade/replacement.

I dont understand why drafting Smart all of a sudden makes Rondo on his way out. Why can't they play together.

Oh but of course, you think Rondo stinks, right. Right...

Extreme opinions are always in the mix.  There are some who think Rondo is a top whatever player and was the best player on our title team, best PG,...  To me that is just as extreme as saying Rondo is the 30th best PG in the league.

I think trading Rondo soon is a good option, not because I think he is a bad player but because I think it is very likely we will either over pay or lose him at the end of the season.  I would have no problem if he accepted the max extension this off season but it doesn't look like he will do that.

I thought Rondo for #8 and McLemore seemed like a good trade for both but apparently either Sac or Boston didn't think so.  Rondo is not the #30 PG in the league, but it is also not heresy to believe that trading Rondo can produce a favorable outcome.

I believe that Rondo likes Boston and is not looking to get out or anything like that but I also don't think he is going to want to play the prime of his career on a rebuilding team.  I think he wants to do what LeBron and Carmelo are doing, pick his team and teammates, go where he want to go; and why not.

He is trying to do what he can help get a star to Boston and if that happens, yeah, he will stay and maybe take some discount like the other big names seem to do these days.  It is hard to believe though that we are going to get that star.  Rondo is not a big enough name to attract another big name I don't think (trading for Love may still be an option though).
