The lineup for now is

C-      ? /Anthony/Faverani
PF-  KO/Sullinger/Bass
SF-  Green/Young
SG - Smart/Young/Johnson
PG - Rondo/Smart/Pressey

With Asik traded to NO for a future 1st (Danny could of done that), i wonder what the Celtics plan is to get a starting center for next season.   Colton Iverson by default might get the starting job for now.  Could end up becoming a joke situation as Iverson is a poor Center, especially on the defensive end or surprisingly Iverson plays better than many expect, brings toughness, size and on a nightly basis can slow down his man as well as clogging the middle.

Iverson is known for his strength and size.  I've seen a few games of him play this past season (Turkey team) and he looks stronger, quicker, a little more athletic and of course played tough basketball as usual.

Again not stating Iverson is the answer at the Center spot but the options are limited, especially with Asik gone now.

IF Danny can't find a better solution , would you start

1. Iverson at C?
2. Sign Humprhies and have him play center?
3. Start KO and Sullinger?
4. find/potentially overpay for a starting calibre center?

Sad how the Center position hasn't been addressed ever since Perkins got traded.  :(

I know that I'm a broken record here, but why not Greg Oden?  He wants to play more next year, and he's still only 26.  He's probably not you're starting center, although I'd be interested in seeing how well he would play with a 5-5-5 minute arrangement.  He'd be cheap.  Why not?  What do we have to lose?

I agree. You might have to overpay a little to get him out of Miami though.

Outside of Iverson right now Anthony = bench warmer,  Faverani = still recovering from injury and doesn't have a free summer to get stronger.

another guy worth a look imo is Cole Aldrich.  Is starting to "get it" and has a ridiculous 7'5 wingspan.  Knicks likely will try to keep to him though unless the Celts want to overpay

If we can't use the tpe on Monroe, Blaytche or Spencer Hawes; Fav will be our starting center. We could still trade Bass or Anthony for one.

I had this crazy fever dream last night that we traded out of the top 10 and drafted Saric, Nurkic, and Capela. Then they all came over at once in 2015-2016 (impossible, I know) and we turned into the United Nations of basketball. I still can't totally decide if it was a nice dream or a nightmare.

Anyway -feasible, that Pau Gasol could be acquired.  Motion offense, passing, not a rebounder, but to my eyes, an excellent addition if doable.  For instance, would LA take a number one and Wallace for a sign and trade?

I don't see Colton getting the starting job, but last night was a good night for him, for sure.

I don't see Bass or Anthony bringing back a starting center. Even Green would probably be a reach for that. Rondo seems to be the only real chip, and just a few teams would be in the market for him.

I'm not sure that an older guy like Gortat makes a sense with the new Baby Celtics either.

With so many reporters following the C's, I wish one of them would do the work of tracking down Vitor and reporting on his rehab and recovery. He had the surgery on March 7, so that'll be coming up on four months ago. Would be nice to see him here in Boston for at least part of the offseason.

I could definitely see them bringing Hump back as a good influence on the kids, though they also have Anthony for that as it is. But I'd hate to see them get in a situation where he was soaking up the developmental playing time of the others. At this point I'd expect to see some of KO and Sully playing together, and also want Vitor and Colton to get experience playing.

I just think we all just need to chill.

Through the draft we now have some young guards to back up/play with rondo. Yes there is still no one capable of being our starting center, but there is still a long way to go before the first game of the season. I don't think this squad is anywhere near complete, Danny and Co have a lot more work to do.

If you build it, they will come...

I don't believe Danny cares right now.

This team is super bad , strapped with so many players nobody wants for their talent , just guys waiting to leave the NBA.

Now it looks like Rondo and AB are history too.

As someone mentioned in another thread , Celtics are about to bottom out with nothing much in terms of elite talent , no direction and hodgepodge of players .

Another 25 win or less season on the plate served up Celtics style.

John Henson is supposedly available for the right price. He would not be just a stopgap solution but possibly a long term one. I thought maybe Olynyk and the Clippers pick might work. He averaged 11/7 and 1.7 blocks in only 26 mpg. He would be a nice acquisition whether we get Love or not since he's only 23.
