Marcus Smart is 6'4, Marcus Smart is 6'4, same height as Wade.

He's slightly undersized but he's not a midget like Bradley
Funny you would say that, because both of them measured exactly 6'2 without shoes at the draft combine.

Yup and that's almost two inches shorter than Wade.  I think his future is at PG.  he's a good passer and will man handle opposing point guards.

Exactly.  That means their NBA listings are 6'4".  Everybody knows how it works.  You add an inch and a half to two inches.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I thought there was a pretty hard and fast rule that you can add up to 1"25 for shoes. But I can't track the source at this point.

An inch and a half, really. He compensates with a longer-than-average standing reach and extraordinary strength, though. I think he should be fine at SG.

Re: height -- it depends on the player. Bill Walton still isn't listed at 7 feet tall, even though, you know, he was.

Google lied to me then. It has both Wade and Smart listed at 6'4 or 1.93 meters

Wade measured at 6'3.75" without shoes at the combine. He's listed at 6'5".

Yeah, and Garnett should be listed at 7' not 6'11". Glenn Davis should be listed at 6'7" not 6'9".

Right -- the NBA has played fast and loose with measurables forever.

ALot of teams seem to play with two point guards, look at the phoenix suns for an example.

the issue is that alot of point guards now adays are pretty much shooting guards in a point guards body. despite Smarts height he has rediculous athleticism and is big. I think he is 227? he should be able to use his weight/strength to bully guys.

i'm excited about the prospect of him/Rondo starting together with Sullinger at the 4

I just listened to the podcast from earlier this week between Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose.  Seems they had Smart pegged as somewhere between Tony Allen and poor man's Eric Bledsoe.
Any thoughts on these comps?

Most of their comps were for the ESPN/NBA hype machine.  I mean really really foolish.  Elfrid Payton to Gary Payton.  Just plain silly.

So you mean that the hype machine saying Smart is somewhere between Tony Allen and Eric Bledsoe is too generous?

Should we be lowering our expectations even more?   Rich man's Marcus Banks?

Podcast hype is different from broadcast hype -- albeit mildly.

Smart has struck me as a smaller Tyreke Evans. I don't know how the more knowledgeable college hoops heads feel about that, though.

Frankly, I think he easily could surpass what Eric Bledsoe has done his first four years in the NBA.  Bledsoe did make a big improvement in his shooting after his first two years, but I don't see poor man's Eric Bledsoe (i.e. not as good as Bledsoe) as his ceiling.  Smart has All-Star and All Defense potential, which is something Bledsoe has yet to achieve.

EDIT:  That's not to say he will surpass Bledsoe.  I just think he has the ability to do so, and that's too long of a ceiling, which is what I'm guessing they mean when they say "between" Allen and Bledsoe.
