Bill Simmons pure bliss when the Celtics drafted James Young

I bet its the idea of ESPN directors to put it out there.

I mean, if you put it logically, he should have pumped up his fist in real time, as soon as James Young was called.

But the feed went for a few seconds before they showed Bill fist pumping (which is awesome BTW). No one gets excited and waits for about 5-10 seconds to fist pump. Now I know it's live, but there should be some TV magic there where in the director probably said (let's put Simmons' fist pump on the show, will be good TV). And then him realizing (or being told) his camera is on made it even more priceless.

But that's just me.

Oh no, Im not denying that it's pure Celtics fandom emotion. Im just saying that it happened in real time, when the name was called and he just went bonkers. The directors saw it, and thought it would be a good entertaining segment.

Although, come to think about it, the laughters kind of kills my theory... I mean, they probably wouldn't laugh if its not going on live.

Ah who cares, Simmons is happy about the pick, so are we.

That was a funny moment .

No fist pump,  but I was very pleased he took Young over Hood , who I also liked a lot.....but the upside and confidence of young in the finals was pretty telling for a 18 yr old to step up like he did.

I see a good player in him , given a couple year maturity and development on the NBA court.

I'm expecting Young to be very good against his rookie counterparts in the summer league.  He is use to upper level competition at Kentucky

To be fair, around pick 14 Simmons said he would love Harris OR Young but didn't believe the Cs would have a choice between one or the other once pick 17 rolled out. Just happened to have a choice and I think Young was the better one.

I know he said that, but right before the pick he was all over Harris.  That is who they should take and then reacts like that with Young.  Just total lunacy.  And it was like that for every single pick.  the GREATEST PICK of all time.  EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Really? I was hoping for Harris...

Smart & Harris as our new undersized backcourt of the future! They actually would be a great fit together. Darn! Why didn't we take Harris?!
