I certainly wasn't against that either... My list at #17 was Young, Anderson, Payne, Napier, Early. I'm good with Young though!

I'm sure I'll warm up to Smart and Young tomorrow but I'm still disappointed we didnt get to swing a Love deal or get Embiid.  >:(

I think we got the best value.

Was hoping to get into 2nd round for Jerami Grant and/or Nick Hohnsin.  They went to Philly and Houston, so they should still be available.

CJ Fair would be a good player for summer team/invite to camp.

DeAndre Jordan has to be our top priority.  We have a TPE and future picks.  They need to move him to go after LeBron.  We want LeBron out west too.  Win-win

I was a HUGE advocate for Love and still am...

I think we have the assets for him still. His value in a trade was killed tonight by flip bailing.

Just resign AB, then send AB + Sully OR Oly + 2 future 1sts and that should do it for Love.

Rondo/Smart/Pressey
Smart/Young/
Green/Young/Wallace
Sully OR Oly/Bass/Hump
Love/Hump/Fav

I like that team with a doable trade and young core

Agree above.. Already posted that on another site.

My thought was that Minny wants to compete, so give them Bradley, green, and Sully and a pick for love and then sign Hayward. TPE for Gortat or trade for Henson.  All of a sudden:

rondo, Smart, hayward, Love, Gortat
Pressey, young! Wallace, KO, Henson / Fav

Impressions ?

That's how you draft. That's how you take the best player available. Young ? At 17 ? Sheesh. I got news for those who wanted to trade for Afflalo. We just grabbed an 18 yr old whose a better overall SG.

Great tandem added in one night.

I hope so but I really doubt it Flip wants to win now in the short term (only to get sent home packing in the 1st round) and is letting emotions come into play. We don't have a package that lets him do that.

I like both picks.

SMART: I think Ainge was in a tough spot at the 6th spot in the draft. You really never had a chance at Wiggins or Parker and Embiid was a HUGE gamble even if he slid to you. Smart looks like a safe bet and BPA at that time. He seems like a great defender and by all accounts he is a great leader and a grit and balls type of guy. I think Boston develops a certain affinity towards those types of players. He's not a great perimeter shooter. BUT he attacks the rim. ALOT. And he can hit free throws. He's also pretty huge for a PG. He reminds me of Deron Williams a lot. Maybe not as a scorer but definitely size wise.

YOUNG: Great value at 17. Super young but looks like he is super talented offensively and on a team that has issues scoring that is greatly valued. High ceiling for this guy and a good gamble at 17. Also has great size and like smart he can attack the rim as well.

OVERALL: Let the youth movement begin. Smart, Young, Sullinger, Olynyk, Pressey. Let them play and see what you got.

Flip will eventually rethink what he's been saying. Mr. Win Now took Lavine who isn't totally NBA ready yet at 13... so he's willing to wait.

The offers for Love will only decrease around the league as time passes. GSW wont give up Klay. Denver may stick with what they got.

We have the best and most logical assets for the Wolves

absolutely amazing that we got away with young. a couple days ago jay bilas had james young picked at 8. 8! that was higher than most but it was a prediction but ESPNs headlining draft specialist so it was a worthy one. his ceiling by some is Michael Redd, not too shabby for 17

It's tough to make a blanket statement about this draft, because it is a good draft, or terrible draft, depending on what you were looking to get out of it.  If you wanted real improvement this year, this was not the draft you were looking for.  If you want to see the team tank for another year while developmental draft picks are brought along, this draft is more promising, but still certainly questionable.

And if you wanted to see Ainge pull off a trade, as many other teams were able to do, this draft was hot garbage.
