The Golden State Warriors may be interested in trading for Chandler Parsons if the Houston Rockets need to create cap space by attaching Jeremy Lin.

Lin first played in the NBA with the Warriors.

Parsons will be a restricted free agent and the Rockets would like to re-sign him, but they are also interested in acquiring Carmelo Anthony and/or LeBron James.

The Warriors have a $9.8 million traded player exception.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Can the Warriors do this and how is Parsons the cost of taking on Lin? If this is the case, I really hope Danny is on the phone - just a couple of months ago we were talking about trading Rondo for Parsons (not something I would have been happy with).

More fluff...

The Rockets are not going to give up Parsons to unload Lin's contract and the Warriors wouldn't be the only team in line to take on Lin's contract if it netted Parsons.

Parsons is more valuable than a late 1st and Lin is still a serviceable player. The Rockets will have to package Lin with what will end up being a late 1st (the Warriors gave up 2 1sts last season to unload Biedrins and Jefferson to clear cap space to acquire Iguodala).

Warriors get the backup PG they need and Parsons? That'd be a heck of a deal for the Warriors, can't see the Rockets doing that.

Too one-sided and in their own conference to boot. Lin and their late first makes more sense.

On the Golden State-Minnesota front, myself & USAT's @JeffZillgitt both told that talks re: Kevin Love were never off & continue still.
