Can we make Boston similarly undesirable, please?

Party pooper.  ;D
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

time is running out for Minny, Boston and GSW stays on the table, the longer they drag this out, the less they will get from other teams

And now we know why the Celtics want the first pick.

i think that report is completely unrelated to this.    I think what Danny would be willing to pay for the #1 pick and what hes willing to pay for Love are two different things, especially when you consider the direction the franchise goes in depending on which move he makes.

To the Cavs and all those don't want to see Love dealt to the Celts

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Cool it, we didn't get Love - this just means Cleveland won't be getting him. GSW still has to be the favorite to land him.

All this "counting our chickens before the eggs hatch" is why the basketball gods will probably screw us over.

Maybe Love didn't think LBJ would ever come back to the Cavs:

Quote
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ?KING? WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

I'd still do the deal.  I suspect he would change his mind if he and Kyrie like playing under Platt and suddenly are making a run for top 3 team in the East.
Not a chance he'd re-sign. Losing culture, bad owner, selfish players. Deng is a class act and he couldn't turn that locker room around. They had to go overseas to get a coach, Gilbert's letter to LBJ, Picking Waiters, picking Bennett, firing Brown twice, etc., etc.

The quintessence of a clusterfest and everyone in the NBA knows it.
Dan Gilbert is not a bad owner at all.  He has a lot of money, isn't afraid to spend it, and wants to win.  He is probably a bit too involved in the basketball side of things, but he will learn and tone it down a bit.  It is also silly to say the Cavs have a losing culture.  I mean they are only 5 years removed from consistent 60 win seasons.  I mean did Boston and Chicago have losing cultures because they had some lean seasons when their superstars left the team.  Now maybe they have losing seasons because they have some selfish players that won't change or maybe they just need a leader (who also happens to be a great player) to get them where they need to be.  Some young guys grow up and become what their talent should be (like Zach Randolph) and sometimes they don't.

If you put Kevin Love on the team from last year, I think they are solid mid-level playoff team next season, with the chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

Also, Cleveland is a very nice city.  No pollution, no traffic, enough to do, and the lake is awesome in the summer.

I agree. Dan Gilbert is a great owner, and not a prime example of what a bad ownership group can do to continually cripple a franchise. Not At All. Definitely Not.

He does tinker too much, but some of that may just be not finding the right people.  I am curious to see how this current group he has works out.  I like Griffin and Blatt seems like a good hire.  Blatt also brought in Lue (who almost got the head coach job) as associate head coach and Gilbert made Lue the highest paid assistant in NBA history.
