No nothing is already done. The furthest along it could be is potentially Minnesota might have a prospect or two that if they fall to the C's 6th pick they'd do the deal for.

Even that level of progression would be odds with all the public reports however.

Tim welsh was on 98.5 this morning and said that the C's are prepared to make a big offer to Minnesota Thursday night and that they are making their future assets (brooklyn picks etc.) available as well.

I don't think so, no.

I think the Wolves feel burnt from the KG trade, and don't want to give up just yet.

I bet they feel optimistic about their ability to turn it around (with Rubio, Pekovic, Shabazz, Gorgui, Love, Martin, Brewer & 4 draft picks tomorrow give them a solid core for next season).

Let's say they select Zach LaVine in the 1st round, and take little Greek Freak, Nick Johnson and either Patrick Young or Nick Bachynski in the 2nd round. They'll solidify their athleticism and scoring from the wing and get another huge body to work in the paint. They might get a playoff seed and show the type of promise that could change Love's mind. At least, that's what MN management may be going for.

I think their worst case is piling up a bunch more draft picks in a Celtics trade to wait another 5 years to see any uptick in wins.

We are not getting Love or Melo and the Cavs are not going to trade their #1 pick to Boston.  If you honestly think any of these scenarios are happening you're dreaming.  Melo wants to win and is greedy.  Love isn't all that and will not come to Boston just for the heck of it.  Rondo is over rated.  The Cavs if anything will keep the pick to trade it to Minny for Love to lure LeBron.

Tommy Point given.  You're absolutely right.  Not one of these thing is going to happen.  Something definitely will happen, but it's not going to be nearly as glorious and triumphant for the Celtics as all these scenarios being floated.

No, I don't think so.  He's going to Golden State, if I had to pick.

You're basically saying that the Cavs have more chance of getting Love, by stupidly trading away the 1st pick for a 12 month rental, than the Celtics do.
Right.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No deal is done. Offers will ramp up once trade deadline (aka the draft) approaches. And though I think the GSW offer is likely the best one, I think it's also the least priority. Mainly because that offer will still keep it's relevance once the draft passes.

Right.

Unless that is their first domino with LeBron being the second domino.

Kyrie - Love - LeBron is very nice.

I'm beginning to believe that not only is a deal for Love officially dead, but never had much life to it in the first place.

If Flip believes the draft + Love = playoff/championship possibilities, then he never had any intention of trading Love.

Next year, when the deadline approaches and Minnesota knows they ain't sniffing the playoffs, then Flip will get the best deal for Minnesota.  You hate it for Love who tried to give them the best option to get good return from him...but at the deadline, other teams will be holding all the cards and Flip won't get as good of a deal as he could have now.

My gut tells me that Danny will figure out a way to put a package together on draft night that Wolves will accept.  Given all the quotes from ownership, and Wyc's love of Rondo, they will try to put a win now team together, lead by Rondo.  While I am hoping we take a different route and rebuild around Embiid, I just don't think management is that patient.

No one wants to play in Cleveland.

That place is for the birds.

Right.

I am saying if the Cavs trade for Love, LeBron may be enticed to go home. I am also saying Melo is greedy and wants money.  And we are giving up way too much to land Love.  Not worth mortgaging picks and everyone on the team for him.

I just have a feeling is already agreed upon.  Last year the Doc deal probably lost us more assets because there was rumors it was talked about (agreed upon) before it should have been. The reason Stern wouldn't allow us to make trade with the Clips for a year.

I am thinking Danny made an offer and told Flip to come back to him after he searches around for a better offer. If Flip is reasonable, Danny will raise the offer a little to get the deal done and beat all other offers. They don't want to make it obvious before the deal is done, even though Love had his whole Boston tour.

I just think this deal will eventually get done, especially after Flip mentioned how he likes players at #17

Thoughts?
I definitely get the feeling Flip is talking to everyone and their mother and that Danny has narrowed it down a bit. I get the feeling there cooouuullddd be an agreement based on who is available at 6 and possibly 17. I get the feeling DA is trying to get other teams involved. But I definitely don't get the feeling it's done or close.

Perhaps he's trading #13 for #17 + Green.

There is tons of possible scenarios depending on how the draft plays out. Bucks can take Exum and the whole world changes. Honestly nothing is for sure untill we know the decisions of the teams around us. We'll just be here speculating until tomorrow night!

At this point unless we clear out the draft pick safe, were not getting anyone! I'm more interested in finding a way to get Hayward and Asik, spend lots of time developing whoever weo draft tomorrow, and go into 2015 free agency with open arms. Regardless if no Love or Melo, where in the Eastern conference which isn't $h!t hard to make the playoffs. We should build core role players who have the ability to go for 20 any given night. Might even take some shade away fro mall the Jeff Green haters! Then again this is just my opinion. Washington & Charlotte seem to be taking this route and has been working quite well
