Saunders said the Wolves are preparing as if Embiid and Dario Saric will be available when the Wolves draft at No. 13. This is, of course, because of Embiid?s foot surgery and Saric?s decision to stay in Europe for another year.

--Saunders said the much-praised draft class is a deep one, especially in this sense:
?Here?s what I think,?? he said. ?I believe the draft, players taken at 17, 18 and 19, those players have the ability to be rotation players next year. To play 15, 20 minutes. If you can get that out of a draft you feel pretty good. So what people felt it was a deep draft because you had the three great players at the top and then you had the depth behind. ? I believe there is a lot of potential in the draft and a lot of guys who will go in the top 10 have a chance to be All Star players.?

hmm. so saunders likes pick 17 as a rotation level player, and thinks a pick in the top 10 could be an all-star?...doesnt sound too different than what the celtics were offering

This is a good sign given where our picks are, it's like a flare instead of a smokescreen

If Minnesota drafts Saric, he may stay in Europe for good.

I just find it interesting that Flip goes out there and pretty much indirectly mentions our picks(and directly with 17, 18, 19) as something of value and how he loves this draft.

after last week supposedly he thought that #13 has as much value as the celtics #6. I think the C's are very much in play here

Flip the GM is being undermined by Flip the coach. Coach Flip doesn't want to coach a horrible team, so GM Flip isn't taking the needed patient approach.

I don't know, it's pretty close to parts of Europe in character and climate.

Who is more honest, Ainge or Saunders?

Posted this in another thread, but thought this would be a more appropriate place for it.

3/3 Sources today confirmed there was a 193 minute conference call today between Danny/Rich Gotham and Flip/Rob Moor/Chris Wright

If you don't know who those people are, Google it.

More tomorrow.

Apparently, he's a reliable source.

If Ainge has the smarts to lowball until the last minute, then Flip should has similar intellect to hype up teams about be interested in their packages. Everyones going to play their cards  differently but similarly  untill the last minute

Neither does Rasheed Wallace (per Woj):

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-blatchewizards032410

Well, the Pistons players tell the story of Rasheed Wallace calling Saunders the "worst [bleeping] coward I've ever seen" after a loss in the 2008 Eastern Conference playoffs. Everyone was there. Everyone heard it. And nothing. Saunders took it, and watched his credibility and command of that team die a little more.

Nor does Andray Blatche - from the same article

Had Blatche been contrite on Wednesday, had he admitted he was completely out of line, maybe he would've merited something less than a suspension. Only, Blatche lashed out and ripped Saunders, calling the coach?s version a "bald-face lie," even demanding an apology from him.

Essentially, Blatche was given an apology. His coach backed down, walked away and let down the franchise in a way no 23-year-old could ever do. Bad enough the Wizards let so much go with a franchise star in Arenas, but now Blache and his tired, sorry act is going to run roughshod over the organization, too?

And we have Danny to negotiate with this guy?!?!   :D  We better get Love for Bogans, Bass and a conditional second rounder

The fact that this is all we keep hearing at this time of year makes me doubt it's that true.
