Gibson, Snell, 16 & 19

Surely, an offer of Sullinger or Olynk and 6, 17, and a future 1st would be much more impressive, no?

Sullinger, who is 22, averaged 13 and 8 this year.  Gibson, 28, averaged 13 and 6, granted he was on a better team.

Thoughts?

That's hard to say.

I think both trade offers are pretty comparable

Could happen.

I also read somewhere that Derrick Rose would prefer to play with Love over Melo, so that could play a factor.

Wow, that's highway robbery right there.  Isn't Gibson was a free agent?  Maybe he's a restricted one, so they'd have to do some kind of sign and trade.  Either way, it's a ripoff.

I've heard that Rose, Noah, and Thibs, yes, Thibs, want Melo.  Rose, Love, and Melo on the same team?  Under Thibodeau?  Even if they only end up with Love, seeing Thibs trying to get him to play defense would be hilarious.  Oh, the entertainment value alone ;D

I think if the Bulls were to include Jimmy Butler as opposed to Snell it would much more enticing.

Bottom line, MIN needs as many picks as possible to ever have a chance at being truly competitive. Even Klay Thompson, the best player (other than Love) yet to be mentioned in these trade talks, is not getting them to the playoffs in the WC.  They will need to grow the team organically - they are not a FA destination.

Lousy offer from Chicago. Gibson and Snell are bench/role players, and the two picks are in the 2nd half of the 1st round. Not a single asset with even All-Star upside.

Yup the C's clearly have the best offer right now. Sadly though Minnesota is posturing to wait this out to the deadline. At that point our offer is less attractive due to the pick being made, if we don't select a prospect Minny likes we'll be done then.

Forget Love.

Keep the picks and trade Rondo for Gordon Hayward.

Yes. Trade Rondo for Hayward.
Draft a big at #6 and a PG at #17.

Maybe an explanation of the rationale here would help, but - and I'm not trying to be mean but, I don't think you understand this NBA trade stuff.

I don't understand why people talk about that trade like it's good.  What am I missing.  Gibson is a 28 year old role player.  Tony Snell is nothing.  #16 and #19 picks are probably trash.

If the bulls offered me that garbage straight up for the #6, I'd say no.

Anyways, I think the Wolves probably will get a better offer for Love than the one we are offering, but it certainly will not be that turd sandwich from Chicago.

A comparable offer to #16, #19, Snell and Gibson would be #17, Oly, Phil Pressey and Jeff Green.  That sure as heck isn't getting it done either.

No way the Jazz agree to that. If we include our 6th pick and Rondo we could MAYBE get Steve Nash.

Maybe we could follow that up by trading the #6 pick for Spurs 1st rounder.

I've posted this before, but we havent seen anywhere that danny has made a competitive offer yet have we?

I mean basically thursday he gave them a lowball offer of 6, 17 olynyk and next years C's pick...THat is nothing and he knows it. seems like he's been waiting in the weeds while GSW/bulls etc. throw minneosta offers so he can see where the bar is set and them come draft night he'll throw out the best offer.

also, its been incredibly quiet on the celtics front. which to me is when Danny usually pops out of nowhere to do something.
