Just finishing listening to Chris Mannix:

Main highlights:

Love isn't going to be traded on/before Draft night; Minny is holding on to him for now -  they know that other teams may try to offer more in July/August. Similar to what happened to KG - Boston.

Rondo is NOT going to be traded on Draft night either; He thinks Celtics hold on and  -get this - try to get someone to come to Boston in trade. He referenced the Carmelo to NY/NJ Nets deal. NY and NJ were vieing for him. NYK eventually got him, NJ then traded for Deron Williams - a Deal that just came out of nowhere.

Danny will try and get Embiid; the only other team that may try and grab him is Milwaukee.

why would teams offer more in July/August? at that point Minnesota cant get draft picks for this strong draft. realistically, the closer it gets to 2015 off-season the less and less their offers will be.

I still say this could be posturing on Minnesotas part to try and get teams to offer more now. If not, and they think holding onto love until the trade deadline is going to net them a better deal, then they are going to come away empty handed

what more can teams offer for Love?

hmmm? seems like they want teams to make their draft picks for them(because they have no faith in doing it themselves) and then they'll have their choice of players and deal with those teams.

I don't know, as much as i'd like to see Love here Minn. is run by a bunch of clowns and for that reason alone i'd rather not even deal with 'em.

haha, that is the most rediculous gameplan by a team. If he thinks an 8th seed and first round sweep by the spurs/thunder is going to convince Love to stay.

Yep, was just about to post that.  He also said that Embiid's agent is only giving his med records to the LAL and C's.

Draft night is going to be interesting.

Not that I'm necessarily a fan of acquiring Love but Sanders is an idiot if he ends up going thru on this angle.  How he can sell that idea to his management with a straight face is beyond me.  Love is walking if he gets to that point with Minnesota.  I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't.

Did teams really offer more post-draft for KG?  As the rumors went, we were offering both the #5 and Big Al for KG.  The deal fell through due to KG not wanting to come to Boston, so Minnesota ended up with just Big Al plus a future late #1.

Yeah they got less for KG because KG didn't agree to the extension with the C's the first time he was approached.

Exactly. It's not like he's talking about trying to make the playoffs in the East. In the West you have to practically win 50 games and that's just to make it as a 7-8 seed and then you get bounced by the Spurs or OKC.

Can you really tell much from a rookies first few months unless they are a complete bust? And it's not like they are going to get Wiggins or Parker?

The thing I'll say sort of in his defense is that their team did lose a lot of close games last year and could have made the playoffs if the ball hand bounced their way a bit. But...  this was with a good coach that is not Flip Saunders too.  So.... yeah.

Now that being said,  even if they do make the Playoffs, they aren't going to win probably more than their first series.  And then Love will have so many better options, if not immediately than in organizations and options where it's the East so you don't have to be as good to make the Playoffs.

The smart move is to make a trade but who knows.
