It sounds possible that Adams was doing a bit of a favor to Brad Stevens after becoming friends due to his daughter attending Butler.  I suspect that they went into this with the understanding that it might be a one-year gig.

Thanks. I posted before I saw this but it does make way more sense than the winning aspect. After all he took the job last season KNOWING we had no shot at winning then.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I get wanting a better shot at winning but what makes GSW all that? They are in the west, the top teams in the west are ALL young and good except the Spurs. I don't care if they get Love, I don't see them going past the 2nd round... are you really telling me we can't do at least the same in the worse conference with changes to the roster??

Winning isn't the reason because it doesn't make sense... there has to be something else. If winning is the reason, he must know that we don't have a chance for years to come.

If it isn't about winning, the only other things are:

wants to be with a friend
doing a favor
doesn't get along with personnel
wants to do more

Those are some things I can think of but maybe there is something else? Seriously, can anyone else think of something that makes sense besides winning? Just doesn't add up. I hope the truth isn't scandalous.

He's originally from that area of the country -- went to school in Fresno.  His first 20+ years of coaching were in Northern California.  When it was said he was interviewing for Golden State, it was very much said that he was interested in the opportunity closer to home.  That plus a winning team certainly seems like a simple enough reason to leave.
