If Lebron does go back to Cleveland though, is that really a better team than Miami?

I mean Kyrie is a great PG which the Heat don't have, but after that....

Who plays the center position in Cleveland?

Also, you don't know what you're going to get with Wiggins.

if Lebron goes to the Cavs, they will trade Wiggins for Love I assume, or maybe even Melo instead. Irving, Waiters, Lebron, Love/Melo, and Varejao. Yeah, that team would be better than the Heat. They would have a very good point guard and a legit center, along with Lebron and another superstar that is healthier and younger than Wade.

They would also still have Zeller, Bennett, and Tristan Thompson to use to acquire more vet pieces.

Don't rule out them resigning Luol Deng if His Majesty ::) returns.  Why would Tristan Thompson be untouchable, though?  To youtube it is, haha

Great signing. $2 million a year. I would have loved to have him here as backup to Rondo.

Isn't that what smart is going to do?

I prefer Smart start at SG and not pay Bradley $8 million. Smart is too good to be bench player. Bradley too expensive to be bench player.

The Cavs cannot re-sign Deng if they get LeBron.  They would need to renounce Deng's Bird rights in order to create the cap room to sign LeBron.

How often do you think Stevens runs RR, Bradley and Smart in same lineup?

Enough where it's a lineup we become familiar with.  With the possible exception of Smart in the first month or so of the season, I expect all of them to average 30 minutes or more per game.

Not a lot. With Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace at SF, there isn't much time left over there to play a 3 guard lineup.

Small ball with Green at the 4.

Stevens wasn't interested in that last season. CBS hardly ever went small with J.Green and G.Wallace at PF. I believe because it would have eaten into the court time of Sullinger, Olynyk, Bass (and to lesser degree Humphries). Forward rotation is already over-manned at both SF and PF positions.

It will be difficult to find minutes for a three guard lineup as a consequence.

When Rondo was out, the guards were Crawford, Bradley, Lee, Pressey, Bogans, and Brooks.  Then Bogans was kciked off the team, Rondo returned, Brooks, Crawford, and Lee were traded, and we got Bayless.  So our guards were Rondo (but not every game), Bradley (who missed about a month), Pressey, Bayless, and then we picked up Johnson and Babb.  Given that Rondo and Bradley were rarely healthy at the same time, it was Rondo/Bradley, Bayless, Pressey, Babb, and Johnson.  There really wasn't the same quality in the guard rotation to warrant going three guards.  If (and if is an important word with Bradley) the guards can remain healthy, it may make more sense, especially also if we don't retain Humphries and/or trade Bass, clearing out the frontcourt a little.

By the end of the season, with Bradley out and Rondo resting most games, Pressey and Bayless were getting the most minutes at guard.  Bayless is gone, and Pressey will at best be fourth in the pecking order, if he even makes the team.  The backcourt should be an improvement this year.

There was the quality / talent at forward to go small at forward with two combo forwards in Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace. Stevens choose not to do it.

The only way I can see this happening would be a deal in which we move Rondo.

The entire TE could be his first year salary. Indy would then get the TE to use on someone else like deng or a guy under a current contract.
