ESPN has learmed that Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks have agreed to terms on three-year deal

Stein

3 years, $30 million

something is seriously wrong with the league when Avery Bradley gets paid almost as much as Drik Nowitzki.

Patrick Patterson has agreed to a 3-year, $18 million deal with the Toronto Raptors, source told ESPN.

Didn't think this one deserved a new thread, so just sticking it here.

Good for Dirk.  I love rooting for that guy he's such a solid dude and this is just him making it easier for the Mavs to become relevant.  I hope Cuban promised him an extra superstar and can deliver...

The Rockets are rumored to have Chris Bosh as their Plan B if Carmelo Anthony turns them down.

What will Bosh do if Houston allows him to avoid taking a big pay cut?  What will Lebron do if Bosh leaves Miami?
He'd miss out on that 3rd ring :)

I wonder who'll be the first here to call Patterson overpaid for a completely fair, entirely reasonable contract.

Bargain

Disappointed to see Patterson stay in Toronto. I think he is ready for a starting job. He has improved his game admirably over the last few years. Still needs a bit of work in his team defense but as a team I'd be happy to take a chance on teaching him that. Good man-to-man defense and very good supporting offensive threat. Could be a real difference making role player in the right situation. At $6 million per year, a bargain for skill-set + upside as long term starting PF.

I suspect Patterson will eventually supplant Johnson as the starting PF.

If this is a bargain, then Bradley must be a steal.  Bradley was 15/4 while Patterson went 9/5.

... and Bradley did that on worse shooting percentages in more minutes for a lottery team.  None of that matters in itself, though.

Found this interesting. It obviously might be nothing, but a lot of talk about James going back is starting to circulate.

The Cavaliers don't look ready to win big now, and that's critically important to James, but that would change quickly if James commits and if Cleveland trades Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, who reportedly would be receptive to signing with the Cavaliers longterm if James is there.

I'm gonna lean towards "nothing" at the moment considering LeBron is still on vacation and isn't slated to meet with teams himself until next week.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Well, a member of Browns says his agent tells him Carmelo to Knicks & LeBron to Cavs. So there you go. :) RT @LaneAdkins: And about LeBron?

I would love to see Lebron go back to cleveland and leave Riley, Wade, and Bosh in ruins, it would serve Riley and the Heat right, and I have no ill will towards cleveland, much better than seeing Lebron go to LA or Houston etc.
