Looks like Wade might be willing to take a pay cut

From the New York Daily News:

Dwyane Wade is likely to opt out of his final two seasons, at $41.5 million, and probably accept a deal from the Heat worth $50 million-$55 million over four years to help the team open up cap space.

Sadly I don't think he's actually giving up money in the long run. The way his health has been going, he might not have made another $15M after this contract was up. He's not a guy I see playing past 35.

this may be true, his  body is definitely breaking down rapidly. Watching him in the finals was great to see for a Heat hater :)

He's "likely" to do this and "probably" will do that?  If this info was coming from someone in Wade's camp, it would be phrased a lot differently.  This sounds like something Riley has thrown around as a possibility behind closed doors and that's all.

Couple more (though some of these are more trade related.)

-Collison, Big Baby and Danny Granger all opt out of their deals with the Clips.

-Per Ryan Russillo, Lakers could deal their no 7 pick and Nash to Philly for MCW and Thaddeus Young.

-Nets and Cavs in talks to swap Thornton for Jarrett Jack

If the move by the Lakers happened the league should step in and slap Philly for stupidity

The Lakers sure do seem to be putting out a lot of rumors about all the awesome players they could totes get for their mid-lottery pick.

Knicks looking to deal Shumpert for a late first.

Bulls have 2 1st's, and so does OKC, they could both use a SG.

I am surprised by that. I thought Shumpert would be Phil Jackson's type of player.

They must just want him gone if they are willing to give him up for a late first.

The Knicks really want a first and Shumpert is the only asset who they can use to acquire one.

That's what I thought too.

Combinations of Sully or Olynyk, Green, Bradley > Taj Gibson and Snell. And 6 and 17 is much greater than 16 and 19 lol. In my opinion.

I don't see how Chicago's deal is better than ours.  Would anyone trade the #6 pick this year straight up for 16 and 19?  I'd think not.

I'm beginning to think the Wolves won't deal with us out of spite or the perception of being their farm team. This whole win now attitude the Wolves are adopting is just a smoke screen. They have no chance to win now with or without Love in the Western conference.

I think the Heat would be silly to commit that many years to Wade at this point in his career--he's breaking down.
