Just lost about seven hundred words explaining the rationale but briefly outling the idea........
1. If Wyc Grousbeck wants fireworks, could the team not amnesty Gerald Wallace's contract wherein he gets paid, but it does not count against the team's cap.
2. Let us assume that an equitable trade  to the eyes of Danny Ainge can be worked out for Love involving primarily draft picks.
3. With the amnesty with Wyc's and the owners deep pockets, a few peripheral trades - even if they involve some draft picks to teams with money cap opening and few players (Lakers for example) -why not look first at LaBron James who is expected to resign with Miami, but is also expected to opt out to explore possibilities or to send the message he expects ownership to do more.  If that does not work, and the amnesty is I hope it is, could not then Asik and Carmello or a top line player be secured this summer?
4.  I doubt not that Ainge's entire focus is not solely built around acquiring Love.  An upgrade, a young player true, but more a signal of commitment and another good player to entice the next free agent.  I hope all scenarios are being considered, pertaining to Mr. Ainge, I think they are.

Wallace cannot be amnestied, and there is very little that can be done to clear sufficient cap space to make a competitive pitch to any superstar FA, unfortunately.

Thank You KC.  Why can't he be amnestied?

Is this Lebron James' cousin?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

First rule for amnesty is you have to gave signed the player.  We didn't sign Wallace.
