NBA source said #celtics are very high on Indiana's Noah Vonleh and he's moved into preferred group with Aaron Gordon and Marcus Smart

Austin Ainge said Cs expect to ask a couple guys back for second workouts. "Unfortunately I can't share those guys with you."

So i know second workouts dont mean anything but are they thinking they might not land love

Makes sense.

It's Smart, Gordon, or Vonleh for me at #6. Provided Exum or Embiid don't fall.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Just saw this

#celtics president Danny Ainge said it's "the most likely scenario" that the team keeps both of its draft picks.

If the C's can't make a trade for Love or another star using the #6 I hope Vonleh is the pick.  He's been my favorite non Parker/Wiggins/Embiid player in this draft for quite some time.

But what if Embiid falls to number six? Would the Celtics risk him?

So we are definitely trading them  then, he said the same thing about keeping PP and KG days before they were traded last year .

Well, if both Embiid and Vonleh are still on the board at #6 that would be a really difficult choice for me.  I honestly think Vonleh could turn out to be as good as, or possibly better, than Embiid.  And now with Embiid's medical issues that just makes the choice even more difficult.

IDK, flip a coin?

I've been a fan of Vonleah the entire pre-draft regardless of not knowing much about him. I think he has a nice future...However, if Embiid is still there at 6... I don't think I could pass that up.

If we draft Vonleh he would be a big upgrade from sully with respect to athleticism, and rim protection.  He would be a better match with rondo an onlyk

Question become what do you think we could get for Sullinger?

Ultimately, I probably would do the same.  But it wouldn't be without much consternation.

No question I'd take Embiid. No question. Even if we had to limit his minutes all season like DWade, he could still be team MVP and team playoff MVP. We don't Need another PF, but we do NEED a rim protecting center. Even for 20 mpg, 50 games a year, Embiid would improve our team more than Vonleh playing full time. Because we would still need a real rim protector, which Vonleh is not. And Embiid has a much higher ceiling offensively as well.

Vonleh might jump well with a full wind-up, but he doesn't jump quickly or very high in game situations, and Embiid probably has a 3-5 inch vertical reach advantage in addition to jumping quicker than Vonleh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZOTtf5ldtI

The title is funny because it's reported they're high on smart, Gordon, embid, randle, exum, etc etc etc.  I think it really means, they're not tipping their hand.

Watching this highlight clip of Embiid reminds me of Bill Russell on defense for the Celtics.  Embiid, much like Russel, has the ability to block shots and still keep the ball in play.
I say if he is there, use pick #6 to select a player similar on defense to the old Celtics #6!
