Rajon Rondo says that the Celtics want to contend next year and that he'd love to see Carmelo Anthony go to Boston

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think this has been mildly discussed, but yes, I agree Rondo. I would be more than happy to bring Melo to Boston and hold on to Embiid...err, I mean the #6. I get the Love love, but this makes more sense - and there is no reason we can't acquire both.

I want him there too. Green, Bogans, Bass, Humph #17, 2015 clips, sac picks should be enough to land him imo.

I only want 'Melo here if he's at the four full time, we keep Green in order to check the more offensively potent forward, and if we can get a solid rim protector.

I do think Melo + Rondo would be a fantastic tandem to watch.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Would a Green/Melo/Pau frontcourt  be possible

That would be amazing in my opinion. If we could find a way to get Wallace bass and bogans out, u make a serious play for Stephenson. Then sign Paul pierce to the mle. Draft Embiid if possible and let him learn from pau if he plays this season I haven't heard. If he doesn't is bring in Okafor.

Rondo, Stephenson, Green, Melo, Pau

Pierce, KO, Embiid of bench. Hopefully we could make the play for melo with Sullinger, bass, bogans, 17th, 2015 clippers pick, but I thought we could just outright sign him I that not true?
"Maybe there is hope for us afterall

I post a lot of stuff on my phone autocorrect sucks.

I wouldn't want a PAID Stephenson anywhere close to this Celtics young nucleus. He acts like a immature spoiled butthole & he hasn't even gotten a BIG CHECK yet! If he can risk acting that way & possibly lose it all in a contract year, just think what he would do with Money & less veteran's to reel him & his antics in. That would be a bad investment!

I certainly admire Rondo's ambition in wanting to see the team acquire an all-star.

However, I have no reason to believe that there's even a slight chance that Melo ends up in Boston.

At least not yet.

Love to see it, but it just seems really unlikely.

Especially when every time you hear Melo's name mentioned, the only cities linked to him are Houston, Chicago, LA, Dallas, Miami and New York (the same 'ol, same 'ol.)

I would agree if this was not this summer but next.  Most of those teams aren't in position to sign Melo Right Now .  , have to much payroll, to many players or a star at his position already.

Chicago makes the most sense.  Miami .....is most likely to run the deal over one more year with their same trio , plus some new FA blood , to replace Allen and other over the hill gang.

I think Melo would seriously look at Boston and Rondo ,  if Love was coming on board.

I think he ll sign with who ever has the best chance at a ring the soonest.

Is Hayward as good as Stephenson ?
I would say Stephenson is the better player between the two.

Stephenson is a top defensive SG. Hayward a solid but unexceptional defender. Hayward is better shooter from distance. Both are strong secondary ball-handlers and passers. Stephenson probably a bit better (ball-handler) due to superior quickness. I'd say the difference defensively is larger than offensively - why I would rate Stephenson ahead of Hayward.

Whether Hayward or Stephenson, I have long said that adding one of them and Melo makes way more sense than adding Love. You get offense ( virtually the same from both) and average defense...except you have to give up way more assists to get Love. It's a no brainer.

We then may have to add a cheaper center option (Henson /Mosgov?) because I don't think we can get Asik cheap if Melo comes to us. draft for a SG or add Jodie Meeks.

Rondo, Stephenson, Melo, Sully, Henson
Pressey, Meeks, Gordon, KO, Fav.     Draft Levine at 17

Just say no!!!

Too old and not going to be effective both ways. Youth movement is the only way to go.
