Draft Embiid at 6

Draft Kyle Anderson at 17

re-sign Bradley and Bayless

Keep future picks and have another big draft next year.

What about Rondo?  I doubt he stays in this scenario.

Yeah, and now would be the time to deal him. It's really hard to find a good trade partner for him. At first I included trading Rondo to Sac for #8, and taking Aaron Gordon.

In which case we could draft best PG available at 17.

That's what I'm thinking.  I hate to say it, but the Lakers make a lot of sense as a trade partner for Rondo.

I like Ennis who should be available at 17 and Napier to a lesser extent.  They might be able to use the Clippers pick or/and the Philly picks to move up for Payton.

I'm not crazy about the wings available at 17.
I like Gordon and Ennis/Napier/Payton better than Smart and the wings that project to be available at 17.  Plus Smart might not be gone already.

I figured that idea wouldn't be too popular around here  :). It makes a lot of sense though.  Lakers need players who can play now.  Rondo and Kobe would probably be a pretty good match.

1. Draft Marcus Smart (6th) and James Young (17th)
2. Trade Rondo to SAC or LAL for their pick .Draft Aaron Gordon.
3. Trade Bass, Bogans, 2015 pick for Larry Sanders.
4. Re-sign Bradley, Bayless, Humphries.
5. Trade Jeff Green for Otto Porter

Smart/ Bayless/ Pressey
Bradley/ Young
Gordon/ Porter/ Wallace
Sullinger/ Humphries
Sanders/ Olynyk

very Scary team 2-3 years from now...

Only bad thing about that team is Gerald Wallace getting overpaid by 7 mill to inevitably whine about playing time, but luckily we only have two more seasons of that.

This team couldn't scored 70 points a night.  Great defensively if Sanders makes it through rehab.  Wish him well with that though..

#6 #17 and next years first to Milwaukee for their #2 and draft Jabari Parker
TPE and and possibly philly picks for Asik
Resign Avery Bradley
Resign Bayless
Trade Green Sullinger  and a pick if needed for Monroe

Line up of
Asik
Monroe
Parker
Bradley
Rondo

Bench of
Olynk, Bayless, Wallace, etc?

Like the defensive, rebounding and offensive potential with go to guys in Parker and Monroe.

Asik and Bradley would have their work cut out out with the defensive side..

A decent start to a team built around Parker Monroe and Rondo?

Without Melo or Love

We ll see he departure of Rondo ...one way or the other.....I think DA gives up and trades him myself., before he gets too old.

At this point just about anything you can dream up could happen......bunches of guys still in college or high school right now could be on the team

Another sixteen years wait to reach 18

My scenario assumes that you can't do everything in one year but you can get a lot accomplished. 1) draft Embiid at 6 and sit him for as long as he needs 2) trade Rondo for Nash and 7th pick and draft Stauskas (this is higher than most have him going but his unique combination of athleticism and shooting skills will translate well to the pro game , especially the shooting part since defenses will have to collapse against Embiid as his offensive skills develop. 3) at 17 draft Shabazz Napier (again this is slightly higher than most teams have him but his 40% 3 point shooting is very attractive when you have Embiid and want to maintain proper floor spacing 4) for the same reason, I would not trade Green yet as I think his 3 point shooting and defensive skills may prosper with Embiid on the floor 5) sign Emeka Okafor to start early and eventually be Embiid's backup. 6) bring both Bayless and Bradley back if it can be done reasonably. 7) for the moment I am satisfied with Sullinger and Olynyk at the power forward but long term I think we need more athleticism at that position. That will be a tough call for Ainge as both players have excellent basketball skills but are below the rim players.  If we do all of these things this summer, I think we will have made great progress though I would not expect more than 30 wins this year.

There's a simple solution to the scoring problem.  We trade picks to Minnesota for Klay Thompson when he tries to force his way out next year.  :)

The forums are chuck full of ideas, but I am gonna stick with what I have been posting for everrrr.

Trade rondo to lakers for #7 and nash

If Gordon is picked ahead of Randle and Randle falls to 8 or 9, trade for Randle. I believe Randle is better than Sully has ha higher floor and ceiling than him too (IMO), also he is more athletic and in more shape, and no back problems(foot problem though).

Now at 17 we can trade down to get Kyle Anderson and a 2nd rounder or 2....and we also draft Isiah Austin with that.

Smart
Avery
Green/Kyle Anderson
Randle/ko
Embiid/ Isiah Austin

I'm good with this plan.  I like Napier and Stauskas.  I liked Stauskas a lot more two months ago when I thought we could get him with the 17th pick.  He reminds me of a 33 year old Ray Allen with his shooting, ball handling, and athleticism.

We'll pick up another good player in next year's lottery and have a healthy (hopefully) Embiid.  We'd also have a lot of cap space after the season.  The future would be bright.

I don't think i would mind trading up to get parker to pair with rondo.  But that would put us in position like we are now.  I really believe ainge is in win now mode and if everything falls through there's no question rondo will be traded. BUT no way do we trade him to lakers please
