If we aren't building around Love who else would you like to see the C's try and acquire? Get creative and have fun!

Here's my idea:

Trade 1
Green and Bogans to Detroit for Smith and #38 2014

Boston gets Rondo's buddy.

Detroit frees themselves of Smith at the expense of the #38 pick and gets Green who fits better with Monroe/Drummond.

Trade 2
Bass, Anthony, Sullinger, Wallace, #17 2014, Clippers 2015, and Philly 2015 to Knicks for Carmelo (s&t)

Boston gets the best player in the deal.

Knicks get 3 draft picks to help with the rebuild, 2 expirings, and Sully at the expense of taking on Wallace.

Trade 3
Peirce TPE to Thunder for Perkins and #29 2014.

Celtics acquire another Rondo buddy and a serviceable center on an expiring contract. His game has fallen off dramatically but he's just a 1 year place holder.

Thunder shed Perk at the cost of #29.

Resign
Bradley and Bayless

Draft
#6 Joel Embiid
#29 Cleanthony Early
#38 Russ Smith

2015 Team
PG: Rondo/Pressy/Smith
SG: Bradley/Bayless/Johnson/Smith
SF: Anthony/Early/Johnson
PF: Smith/Olynyk/Early
C: Perkins/Faverani/Embiid(back of depth chart until healthy)

Step 1: Trade for Asik
Step 2: Wait for someone who is not a PG or C to become available.

So, this is how I went about it.

I hit "CTRL + F" and searched for "Perkins".
Match found!
Automatically discarded the rebuild idea.

1. Draft Marcus Smart (6th) and James Young (17th)
2. Trade Rondo to SAC or LAL for their pick .Draft Aaron Gordon.
3. Trade Bass, Bogans, 2015 pick for Larry Sanders.
4. Re-sign Bradley, Bayless, Humphries.
5. Trade Jeff Green for Otto Porter

Smart/ Bayless/ Pressey
Bradley/ Young
Gordon/ Porter/ Wallace
Sullinger/ Humphries
Sanders/ Olynyk

very Scary team 2-3 years from now...

Only bad thing about that team is Gerald Wallace getting overpaid by 7 mill to inevitably whine about playing time, but luckily we only have two more seasons of that.

Step 1: Trade for Asik

Any rebuild, with Love or without should start with this. We need to protect the rim first and foremost.

Offer Sully or KO as a start and work from there. I'd prefer not to give any 1st rounders but we work from Sully/KO swap.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

if we target/draft embiid, rondo is as good as gone, to put it simply with embiid's health being an issue in the future and him not even being able to play for the first half of the year rajon most likely will not want to stick around and wait it out, and then be traded
if rondo gets traded jeff green is the next domino to fall, i think the deal in place for jeff green would be with the wizards centered around otto porter
(all this obviously depends on how the draft plays out) if this happened my dream and ideal scenario would be to trade rondo for the 7th or 8th picks plus more (for the lakers it would be nash expiring plus another pick and sac would prob be ben mclemore maybe another pick)  take 6th pick and 17th pick and maybe another pick to move up and draft dante exum (whether that means the sixers like vonleh or randle so we can move up or orlando likes smart so we can move up...once again this would probably have to be in the perfect situation)
- new lineup and core would include otto porter, dante exum, joel embiid, sully, kellyo, avery bradley, maybe ben mclemore
and that lineup would although talented, get another high draft pick the next 2 years, especially with embiid's status next year being up in the air

You don't rebuild starting with Asik. He's going to be 28 by the beginning of the season. If your get Love, yeah that makes sense, he's going into his prime. But you don't start the rebuild with him, he's the final finishing piece if you've build a contender. He's not drawing free agents here thats for sure.

Getting Asik during a rebuild could make sense because it would allow Sullinger to play his natural position of power forward.  It could really help his development.  Wyc may object to the $15m though.

Yeah you don't spend that kind of money on a backup who happens to be able to give you starter minutes, and who would take away minutes from others like Olynyk. If w are in rebuilding mode then go all in. Like others have said, Asik is the "last pice" guy you add to a highly competitive team to put you over the top. Certainly would not give up Sully for him.

Step 1: Draft Embiid
Step 2: He gets healthy and turns out to be the next Duncan/Hakeem
Step 3: Win 2-5 rings

I see Olynyk as a 4 who can play stretches at the 5 depending on match ups.  If we are rebuilding, I do think we need to find a center to push Sully and Olynyk to their proper positions.  It should be someone for a lot less than Asik money who can hold down the position for a year.  I don't have anyone in mind though.

No to Bayless as a starting SG and neither WAS or DET would accept either of those deals..

Draft Embiid at 6

Draft Kyle Anderson at 17

re-sign Bradley and Bayless

Keep future picks and have another big draft next year.
