Austin Ainge via Mark Murphy: "Ignore all of it (rumors). It's all planted. Anybody willing to talk this time of year, even off the record, has an agenda."

Just a little something to remember as this time of year you watch fan bases jerk back and forth and up and down like a roller coaster ride over the latest "rumor" or "source".

I think love to GS makes too much sense based on what both teams want. GS to contend. Minny to play in May.

Likely now all about how much the wolves can get out of the warriors.

As I am sure Austin Ainge is well aware, simply because an individual has an agenda does not necessarily mean that the rumors they plant are not true.

Some of the rumors are too close to the truth, so Austin Ainge has been sent out to plant the rumor that all rumors are planted, so we don't believe the rumors.

Because, of course, the term "rumor" isn't enough for people to catch on to the fact that rumors are, in fact, only rumors.

Does anyone remember if there were any reports of the Celtics being interested in Olynyk last year? I know they traded up, but it wasn't by a lot.

The guy they've been relatively silent on is Vonleh. Gordon has been in Ford's mock consistently and Ainge had that comment praising Smart. Maybe they hope hometown boy Vonleh is there at 6?

Oh, they also haven't talked about Randle at all.

I remember that it was well known that Ainge went to scout Olynyk at at least one game and I believe he made some favorable but bland comments about him.

It's fun to speculate on the different rumors while we wait for the offseason to unfold, but they're nothing worth getting worked up over.  No way to know what's true, what's half-true, and what's Chris Broussard.

There were a few threads about it because we scouted him and were "rumored" to be interested.  A lot of people thought he was a likely selection (and most weren't very happy about it).
