how good could a team of

PG: Rondo      /
SG: Bradley    /
SF: Green      /  PP
PF: Melo        / ko
 C: Gasol       / Fav

I think that team could possibly contend for the east. We would need to get a defensive Big man off the bench , another defender and shooter off the bench. That team probably has a 3 year window

NOOOOOOOO!  Pau Gasol is an over-the-hill, whiny, LAKER!  He could never be a Celtic; and Melo is the antithesis of everything that the Celtics have always been about - Me Not We.  I want no part of either one, quite frankly.

How about Greg Monroe?

I hope the OP meant to write Marc Gasol instead

God no! You cannot take short cuts in rebuilding and putting a shooter like Melo on this team is horrible. How are we better than the Knicks the past few years with this team? Treadmill to the max. Gasol is washed up

Please no Pau and no Melo....ugg.  I wouldn't mind Pau for a year or two if he came cheap, but man I am just not wanting Melo on this team.  My own bias I admit it.

Yeah, 17 points, 9 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 48% shooting  per game is over the hill. I dont know about whiny either. If there's any current Laker at the moment that you can call a professional, Pau is on that list.

Melo's "me not we" is overblown. He can get his teammates involved. Also, if you have a "me" guy who drops 27 a game in 45% shooting (40% 3PT), and he would be willing to come, you take him and figure out the rest.

You don't know if he's whiny?  The guy is the Lebron and Wade of big men.  He always screams any time he's under the basket.  It really helped him get to the line in game 7.  Strangely, after that, the officials stopped going for it, or at least at a much lower rate.  I wonder why that is?  Gasol could be a 1986 Walton-like player off the bench for a contender, though.  I could definitely see the Heat or Spurs pursuing him for such a role on their squads.

Screaming if he gets hit is what you call "whiny"? Wow. I'd understand if he loses his focus on the game because he complains a lot, which he doesnt do. But screaming because he gets hit is "whiny"? Really?

BTW, KO does that too, is he also "whiny"?

And also, again, 17 points, 9 rebounds, (i forgot) 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game (60 games total) shooting 48%, and you want to make him a super sub? He's not young, but obviously he's still producing at a high level. To make him an off the bench guy means you either have 2 other bigs who produce better than him, impact the game better than him, or you don't know what you are doing.

If Love trade doesn't happen then I'm on board with going after Melo. I personally dont like the idea of Melo and Love together. To me Melo is best suited as a stretch 4.

I agree with the above post that at this point Gasol is best served as a hired gun type not a big man to build around.

If no Love, I bet we keep the picks and sign Hayward.

..would love Hayward as a compliment to another scorer. He can do a little of everything on offense. He, Rondo, and KO would be a great passing line-up.  You could stick Bradley and a center with a decent mid range game with those three and have a pretty good line-up
