Chad Ford 1PM chat today

"I was told by a good source in Minnesota that as of Monday, the Celtics had the best offer on the table and were the favorites to land Love. I think Bill Simmons reported something similar today. I know the Boston Herald just said the opposite -- that the Warriors and Nuggets had made better offers. But I'm skeptical. The Warriors won't include Klay Thompson (at least not yet). And the Nuggets? They have the 11th pick. They have Kenneth Faried. But what else? Gallinari? Hickson? I don't think that's a better offer than the Celtics."
===

Posted this elsewhere, but Ford claims he was sourced by T-Wolves.

Too many Love threads and I realize that news can get buried in one long thread, but this is getting messy when we're making threads up for when Baxter Holmes tweets.

@cman88: VERY important - where does your "quote" for Chad Ford actually end? does it end after "....than the Celtics" or does it end "...favorites to land Love." Please clarify.

It stands to reason that it ends with the second set of quotation marks.  ;)

(seriously, the whole thing is a Ford quote. All the way to '... than the Celtics')
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Now what to think? My goodness, this story is all over the place...this moments ago:

@BaxterHolmes  7m
After talking to league sources, my new top-three potential destinations for Kevin Love: 1. GSW. 2. Chicago. 3. Denver.

Makes sense to me.

The wolves with hiring flip imo are not backtracking to rebuild. If they were going to do a fire sell then fine the celts would be fav to get love

They have had horrible luck with the draft the last what 5 years? The owner imo is desperate to even make 8th

Ford states emphatically that the Celtics have offered 6, 17, Ollie or Sully, two future Brooklyn picks.

No way any other team comes close to matching that offer.

I think it is too much, like most of you do.

Wolves are just trying to increase the offer.  I wish Danny would just withdraw it.

Interesting that its two Brooklyn picks.   I would have reservation there.  Much rather try to move the Clippers pick or one of our own along with 6 & 17.

Wow, crazy day of rumors and speculation.

If I can put two and two together, I come up with 3 plausible scenarios.

A.)The Wolves just don't want to deal Love to the Celts for whatever the reason (not happy with our trade offer, still too soon after they dealt KG to us, etc.)

B.)Because Golden State always seems to come up in these rumors, that they are the odds on favorite to land Love

C.)Love to the Celts is inevitable and all that we hear between now and when the trade officially happens is just fluff.

Grain of salt.

Bingo.

This is the same guy whose sources were dead wrong about the Doc Rivers saga last year.

What were the Celtics offering for Love? Also, what makes Boston think Love would resign?
Chad Ford  (1:21 PM)

6, 17, future No. 1s from the Nets + Sullinger and/or Olynk. I think Boston is one of the three or four places Love would be happy to land. I think he'd re-sign.

What's the latest on Kevin Love being traded? Is Boston the best offer (if so, who would Minny take at No. 6)?
Chad Ford  (1:04 PM)

I was told by a good source in Minnesota that as of Monday, the Celtics had the best offer on the table and were the favorites to land Love. I think Bill Simmons reported something similar today. TP sed.

If its the Nets picks and this year that's a steep price. But if we let KO go and get to keep Sully, that would be fine.
