If we're "heavy favorites" and gs and chi are out, I hope that translates into he mentality that we don't have to give up the world for him.

This is new information....

Someone very plugged in who says the Celtics are the "heavy" favorites...Also tells us GS & CHI is out...No need to be condescending. Trying to get the latest out there.
Hard to take seriously without a named source. Sorry but 'Very Plugged In' doesn't cut it for most.

But...the KFan poster said GSW is a done deal?!! :-)

As far as Simmons goes, I think his credibility is going to grow as time goes on...He's now on the NBA Countdown show, which allows him to travel and talk to many others involved in the game...His stature throughout the NBA media world has grown exponentially over the past 2-3 years and I take him more seriously now than ever.

I'm NOT saying he's got all the details and that he couldn't be wrong...Just believe he's more plugged in now than before. Also believe he does have contacts in Boston that could help him along on a story like this.

TP to the op. If we aren't here to read and discuss the latest buzz, even if incremental, a week before the draft, than why are we on celticsblog at all at this time.

I find it interesting that the warriors might be unwilling to trade klay Thompson.

I think Bill Simmons is a reputable source and I appreciate the separate thread because I also hate digging through 10 pages of what-ifs to find new info. TP for saving me time.

I didn't know GSW wouldn't move Klay. That seems silly, especially if they can move Klay+Barnes for Love and GSW can find another team to take Lee. Thompson and Barnes on rookie deals would be a realy good offer. Still doesn't compete with three 1st round picks + Sully and cap room but it would be a good offer.

Thoughts?
Thoughts? See the 24895743957838947 other running  threads about Kevin Love.

Pretty sure none of those threads contain the same information the OP is talking about.

This if the first time I've read this.

TP to Nacceltic for posting this.

Simmons is credible, and this is news not that we are favorites as reported by Ford yesterday, but that Chicago seems to be dropping of the chase and GS seems entrenched in not offering much.

Its already been posted in the Chad Ford thread.

Also, I'm not sure I would categorize Simmons as any more plugged in than any of his coworkers. He's never broken anything on the level that, say, Stephen A. has.

Randy Moss?

I think it says a lot that the biggest story he ever broke was by accident (which is why I don't count it).

Should have used a hashtag or some such to express my sarcasm :)
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

It's still all about how much the Celtics have to give up in order to make this acquisition. I remain intrigued but highly skeptical about our having to overpay for Love. The Knicks gave all their assets up to pair Amare & Melo. Didn't work out and they have a bleak road ahead.

The C's have a ton of assets and may have to give up most of them for 1 player who has significant deficiencies.

While I appreciate this, there's no need to scatter it in a million separate threads.

Well, I think the fact that we have one thread with so much information in it and so many different thoughts, sometimes we risk losing a new report and/or new information...It's tough for me to go back everyday and look back at the last 10 pages of certain threads to see what the latest is. I actually think it's much easier for consumption if there is a thread created when something new from someone different comes out. I guess I'm in the minority.

TP...my sentiments exactly...thanks for this!

If only this had been the story he'd broken:

Quote from: Some writer with a poor TV presence
Don't worry, my binge of mediocre TV appearances ends that night.

I don't think this is groundbreaking news but it's nice to see confirmation that GS is still not interested in trading Klay.  And it's not like there are lots of other good topics being squeezed out by Love threads.

And by the same token, it's hard to follow anything else that's being talked about when it's spammed out by an inordinate amount of Kevin Love threads that inform us when yet another pundit decided to rehash days-old rumors into an article.

Sorry if this is harsh, but there hasn't been anything really "new" on that front since Love visited Boston.

The most effective way to avoid such threads is to click the "mark as read" button and not bump them by posting complaining about said thread.

Last time I checked, even read threads will populate the Latest Forum Topics.
