Lebron tryin to land all the best player available just to win a ring. Pathetic.
Its pathetic to try and upgrade your team in FA?

Huh?

not at all. but when the heat already have 3 all stars and are all but saying they need more...kinda  makes those all stars already on the team look pretty weak.
Kyle Lowry has never been an all-star.

I think he'd be a significant upgrade for them, particularly with Wade's health up in the air and him likely missing games next season with his maintenance plan. Lowry would give them another guy that can create his own shot and take pressure off of Lebron. He's a decent enough shooter from 3. His biggest impact would probably be on the defensive end. I don't know if Miami will be able to sure up their interior defense, so adding a PG that can really get after opposing guards would probably be their next best option.

Don't know if it will come to pass, but Lowry to Heat would be a great move for the team.

Yeah but what's the contract? Lowery's gonna want good $$$$$, they cant afford him as of right now.

This doesn't even seem remotely realistic. I get that he will cost less than Carmelo, but the people saying that every all-star (or near all-star) in the NBA is going to go play in Miami just don't understand how the salary cap works. Will the MLE be enough for Lowry? I highly doubt it - especially when a team comes knocking with a 10+ mill offer.
The Heat could  clear up space for about 10 million if Wade/Bosh/Lebron opt out and resign for less than 20 million per year they are scheduled to earn.

He's a mini Lance Stephenson.

Good get for Miami, if it happens.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

I guess I should have clarified that there is a 'possibility', but it seems highly unreasonable. You are pointing out a scenario where a fading (and desperate) Wade and third-fiddle Bosh are going to opt out, take less money just to sign a decent player in Kyle Lowry? Maybe Lebron will do anything to win, but Bosh and [especially] Wade seem unlikely to do so. Carmelo is on an entirely different planet than Lowry.

I appreciate you pointing out that there is a possibility, I know that my thoughts sometimes don't translate into words very well.

If LeBron wants them to sacrifice the salary and asks them to do the same I think Bosh/Wade have a tough time saying no.

True. but how does that now look - you have 3 all stars and that wasn't enough....not that Lowry an All-Star, but you now have to sacrifice $$ in order to bring in another #1 option on a playoff team in order to add to an already self-proclaimed 'SUPER-TEAM' . That to me is pitiful.

That no matter what they do, people will crush them for it.

How often have fans asked why players don't take less money to get more talent to win and when Lebron does it, it is "pitiful"?

And isn't this about a player wanting to join them?

Who knew the biggest flopper in the league would want to join the biggest flopping team in the league?  He would fit right in with James, Wade, Bosh, Chalmers, and the rest of them.  Simply wearing a Heat jersey would instantly increase his FTs.  Having access to their acting coaches must be a huge lure for Lowry.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Big addition if true.

Tough to believe from a salary cap angle though and all I've heard up to now is that he wants to stay in TOR, which is a pretty nice town if you can stand the cold.  Their GM and HC did a really nice job with that team this year, so why spoil a good thing if they'll pay you more?
