Not that this guy is a C's insider, but his theory makes absolute sense. Rondo wants a Max contract for 2015 and I really think that Minny will play hardball (stupid IMO). so I don't really see Love coming to Boston (which may be the only way that Rondo stays)
Stevens was brought in to develop talent and I kinda see the Jeff Hornacek thing in Phx happening here in Boston. We go with a youth movement in 2014 and trying to trade assets in 2015.
Problem is we'd have to have a complete roster turnover in 2015 in order to compete for 18 (and then which players would come here).

If this is true, we'd be drafting smart.

If this is not true, we still could be drafting Smart.

there's a lot of misleading titles that get put up in this place. WTH!?!?

"The C's will trade Rondo'

then the link provided says this guy "thinks" rondo will get traded.

this guy is doing nothing more than what everyone else is doing - speculating.

what I speculate is if we don't land Love we will trade rondo and start from scratch. if we do land Love I could see rondo taking less than a max deal.

There's been no evidence whatsoever that Rondo would want a max contract. I actually have a feeling he is the kind of guy who wouldn't care about a max contract or not if we got Kevin Love.

We'll see.

The next time Ian Thomsen is right about something will be the first time.

Watching those two creepy Rondo haters in that clip made my blood boil.

This is certainly possible, but several things need to happen for it to be plausible.

First, Danny has to fail in adding a few really good players to the roster this season that would make the Celtics contenders and satisfy Rondo that they were headed in the right direction.

Second, Danny would have to believe Rondo was not worth the Max and that he would not stay long enough for him to rebuild the team in any case.

Third, Rondo and his agent would have to be certain that there is a team out there willing to give him a max contract. That team would also need to be a contender and have pieces in place.

Fourth, Danny would need to find a team that was willing to give him 'value' for Rondo.

I don't see Rondo as a guy who is just going for the money. He certainly wants to be paid, but playing for a championship is also right there on his list. Danny has a proven track record of building playoff capable teams. That would indicate that unless there is an unknown factor such as a new 'secret big three plan' unfolding elsewhere that Rondo will get the best payday and best shot at playing for a contender by staying in Boston after all.

I think Danny will or already is quietly checking the market for Rondo's value as he moves forward on all fronts. This trade possibility will dramatically effect the draft and trades for the Celtics so I think it will be soon resolved if there is any grain of truth here.

Oh almost forgot, this guy is full of beans. He has no source, Just one mans opinion.

Sadly, I think he might be right.

I'd rather see the Celts pick up a couple vets to pair with Rondo, but if DA can't land any of the big fish (Love, Melo, etc.) then this might end up being a possibility.

We'll see.

Well Chad Ford says that Flip is realizing that the C's might have the best offer:

I think its a good move. Trade him to sac for the 8th and future 1st . Then flip our 17th to get into the top 7 and get gordon and smart. Austin Ainge and especially BS also big on napier (if we get a early 2nd)

Smart and napier backcourt would be a nice backcourt pairing
