Simple question and I'm interested to see the debates here. The 2014 Spurs handed it to the Miami Heat. They really played beautiful basketball in the most extraordinary of ways. Complete team ball, unbelievable ball movement. I haven't seen basketball played this way in maybe all my 26 years of living.

So where do the 2014 Spurs rank amongst the all time great teams in NBA history?

I obviously don't think they are the greatest team of all time...But I'm interested to see peoples take in the overall scheme of things.

They are up there. They've been the best team quietly most of the season, not as much respect as in years past because of their age. And  It's how they won the last three games. They just dominated a team that should have made it a series.

I would have loved to  have seen the first year of our big three vs this Spurs team. God that would have been one hell of a battle.

2008 Celtics Championship team is still better than them in my opinion

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

Very similar to the recent run the C's.

2 Finals appearances, 1 win, 1 heartbreaking loss, 1 WCF run that was bitterly disappointing. But they were a much better regular season team with the exception of the first two years with KG.

Great team.

Great team.

Certainly one of my favorite championship teams of this century.  I'd probably put them behind only the 2008 Celtics, with the 2004 Pistons and the 2011 Mavericks in the running.
