Phil Jackson deserves credit. 11 championships is unreal. Sure he had the players, but so have other coaches over the years, and were unable to win championships. (e.g., Gene Shue's '77 Sixer team, or the Lakers in '69).
Jordan had played several years before Phil came in, without much play-off success. Jackson helped teach Jordan how to win. He did the same thing when he joined the Lakers. Shaq and Kobe were already together and could not win. He helped them figure out how to do it. Similar to what Doc did with our team when KG and Ray came in. It took a certain type of coach to get them to buy in (e.g., Ubuntu).
