This would be a pretty big loss.

Another respected NBA assistant who's talked with Golden State's Steve Kerr about joining staff, sources tell Yahoo: Boston's Ron Adams.

Had been told that if any Celtics staff member leaves this offseason, it would likely be respected asst. Ron Adams.

Have also heard that while Adams likes C's, he would be strongly interested in going to a non-rebuilding team, i.e. a competitor like GSW.

Source confirms that GSW is highly interested in hiring respected Celtics asst. Ron Adams. Source adds, "But a lot of teams would love him."

Source tells Globe that Celtics asst. Ron Adams will fly to GSW next week to meet about potential asst. coaching job.

Source: Adams still has 2 years left on his deal w/ Celtics & isn't for sure out the door. Source says he wants to hear them out.

Source: No offer has been made. Other factor, Ron Adams, who turns 67 this November, still not sure how much longer he plans on coaching.

I wish we'd hire Cowens as an assistant or Parrish.  I like Walt but I rather see some Celtics with more experience and winning pedigree.

Booooo!

I really like Adams and was hoping he'd finish out his career in Boston.

I understand wanting to be with a playoff team though, if Boston doesn't make any moves and elects to tread water next season.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I've got no problem if we get something in return.

Something like Ron Adams for Harrison Barnes would be a fair swap?

In all seriousness, Danny probably won't let him go anywhere. They hired him because they knew this would be a development period and that's what we want him here for.

I want him here, and if we get Love and Asik, he'll be the assistant coach on a team that's arguably better than the Warriors.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
