He'll likely slip now. I wonder what we'd have to package, along with #17, to grab him. Larger question is how far he'll drop. He was a top 8 pick before so you'd think he could drop into the low teens. That's great value.

Ugh. Wrong player to drop. He is not dropping to 17, he was projected to be in the top 5. I don't want him at 6, and now there is no chance he bumps down other players like Exum, Smart, and Vonleh.

probably but not necessarily.  If Utah wanted him to pair with Favors to provide the offense they need from that frontcourt, they might take him.  They're not going anywhere next year so him not playing for 2 months would help them tank again for the next draft.

He'll probably still go top 10.  I don't think it'll be a Sully-like situation where he really drops in the draft.

Foot issues are always scary with big guys.

How so?

Say that Embiid, Wiggins & Parker go 1-3, as expected, that means that 4-6 will likely still be Exum, Smart & Vonleh, in no particular order. Basically, the C's will still be able to draft on of those three players.

The C's will just end up with the last choice of those 3 players, which was probably the case all along anyway. I don't for one second believe Ainge would pass on one of those players to draft Randle or Gordon, Ainge is smarter than that.

76ers should be drooling at the idea of Randle being available at #10. If they can get wiggins at #3 then add Randle at #10 to go along with Noel and MCW the tank may be very worth it. I would not be surprised if they end up using Thad Young to trade up with Lakers of Sac to get Randle if they don't think he makes it to #10.

I was hoping he went up the boards so someone I liked more fell to us.

The more and more I think about it, the more and more I think we will trade back and still end up grabbing Gordon.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Always interesting that these things come out two weeks or less before the draft...Teams learned of this at the combine, so it seems that it will have little bearing on his draft status.  Teams in the top 6-8 are still bringing him in (IE The Celtics), so it doesn't seem like this is a major issue to front offices.

Now, me? I do get concerned when you talk about feet problems and big guys (see: Lopez, Brook).  If I was running a franchise, I would hesitate greatly picking Randle before Vonleh & Gordon now.  And I am one of those guys that LOVES Randle.

I'm not sure why this would make him drop:

Quote
As a high school senior in Texas two years ago, Randle missed three months with a fractured right foot. There was a screw placed into his foot that needs to be removed as a precautionary procedure, sources said. Randle hasn't experienced pain in the foot, nor did he miss any games because of it in an All-America freshman season at Kentucky.

I'm hoping that this will only affect Minny, who as the recipients of #6 in partial compensation for Love may well be interested in Randle as a prospect to help replace Love.

I could see Randle slipping to 10 now. Philly's got so many draft picks they could afford to gamble on Randle. Highly doubtful he slips all the way to 17. I'm ok with Smart, Vonleh, or Gordon. I could see Exum slipping to us as well. If we do get Exum, is that the last of Rondo?
