Nope. But complete this rebuild properly.  Trade rondo.

I want smart, gordon and hairston

"I don't want to tank, but we have to trade our best player..."

Not sure I see the logic in this?

Unless you're being serious when you think Olynyk is a future perennial allstar...
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

You're confusing "rebuild" with "tear down", unless you're trying to rebuild the Celts into a bottom feeder.

Pretty much my thoughts too.    That would guarantee another Top 6 pick and a more dreary Celtics future.

So Rondo, at age 28, is too old?  Or do you just not believe in him?

If no Love or Anthony, then I agree with the idea of bringing in Asik, resigning Bradley, not trading Rondo unless the deal is just too good to pass up, and starting Sullinger and Green at the forwards. Our bench would have Olynyk, Faverani, maybe Bayless, Pressey, Bass, and two lottery picks (say Vonleh and Hood for instance). In the weak Eastern Conference, are 40 wins out of the question? Our salary cap status would continue to improve and maybe we can sign or trade for a star or two with all our draft choices and young players plus expiring contracts.

Sully and Olynyk will become David West and Dirk Nowitzki, that's common knowledge around the nba.

I seem no reason to tank.  Celtics are loaded for the upcoming drafts...

-There is a small chance the 76er pick could turn out to be a 1st rounder(someone correct me if I have made a mistake, but I thought the pick goes to the Celts if the 76ers are not in the lottery. Which is possible with their 2014 picks and Noels coming back.)

-Donald Sterling is doing his best to help the Celtics in 2015

-2016 and 2018 Nets picks could be pure lottery gold
and the 2017 exchange of picks could be gold.

Celts will still have their picks as well.

I am more for trying to win and add through Free Agency and supplement through the draft.

The only real question is what to do with Rondo, which I would personally like to keep.

But what will tanking actually do, give you the #7 pick in 2014 v. the #15 or #20?  I would rather the Celts try and become a playoff team and entice some help from FAs.

No star will mean trading or losing Rondo......most likely ...not 100%....... But I would be surprised to see him stay .

I hope he can .

My preference is for Danny to field as good a team as he possibly can.  I wasn't rooting for losses this past season, and I won't be next season, or any season that I'm watching the Celtics.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I believe Rondo can't excel unless he is surrounded by HOFs like KG, PP, Allen.  I believe he will never be a consistent confident shooter. And i don't believe he is a max player though he will want to get paid like one.  You can't have him lead your team and expect to get anywhere

Continue to be patient.

Make only good trades, not trades of desperation.

Let the cards fall where they fall next season.

If no Love, lose for Okafor.
Trade Rondo and go down for Towns.
Look to the future and put the season on the burner for Turner.

My first preference is to get Love and use the PTE for Asik.  But if we can't get Love or another elite talent, I'm afraid we'll lose Rondo to free agency.

If we trade Rondo, my hope would be to draft Smart, Gordon, and Stauskas.  A young corps of Smart, Bradley, Stauskas, Gordon, Sully, and Olynyk would be intriguing.  I know a lot of posters would hate to see another losing season, but I personally enjoy watching the young guys develop their games.  We'd have a very good chance to draft one of the centers in next year's draft and we'd have another developmental season.  But by 2016, we'd have a ton of cap space once Green and Wallace's contracts expire.  We'll have a good idea what players we want to build around, the cap space, and the Brooklyn first round picks to add veterans.  It's a long rebuild, but patience is a virtue and it could set us up with a competitive team for a long time.

I think he can be a leader but not necessarily have to be the Alpha Dog on this team.  I don't think it has to be one or the other with Rondo.  I think you can keep him around and build with complementary parts.  He may end up being the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team down the road but he makes the team better and I certainly think he'll bring more to the table than Aaron Gordon or Kelly Olynyk in terms of leadership.    I sure as heck wouldn't dump him just for the sake of dumping.

Being enamored with the potential of youth isn't the way to go, IMO.  You need some veteran presence.

- Lose Rondo
- Lose most of our games
- Get screwed in the lottery again.

Why do you guys insist on doing this? It isn't going to work..  ???
