The interview with Grande is on part 2 of the podcast from when he was on the Sports Hub yesterday.

He actually doesn't think the TWolves will trade Love before the beginning of the season.

I also wish I could convey to Grande that he's not the only one who thinks getting Melo in Boston would be great and that not everyone thinks like those idiots Felger and Mazz (who don't even follow or care about basketball.)

I can't think of too many things that are less interesting than the feuds that these commentators have with each other. I wish someone could convey that to those guys. Not that they have anything better to talk about, but still.

I like when Grande said, that in 2007 everyone was against trading Big Al for KG---and one of his fellow Broadcasters threatened to quit if it happened-----Betcha it was Mike Gorman....I remember him being set against it...and I know Gorman Hates Carmelo too.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Really?  Gormon?  If anything, I'd think it was Tommy.  He always overestimates the young guys... I could see him being adamant against trading Big Al.

Who gives a flying fornication what Mike Gorman thinks about players?? There is a reason he is announcing games and not working in the front office. Stick to what you do best Mikey...

Carmelo is the most complete scorer in the game. We would be lucky to have a player of that caliber here. People always chirp that we need a rim protector, but we also need a Go-To scorer or someone who could at least create their own shot. Now... his fit, his attitude/commitment, and his cost are discussions worth having. But in a vacuum - if someone asks if you want him on your team - the answer should be a yes.

I know. I'll never understand why so many people were adamantly opposed to dealing Jefferson for KG. I mean we ended up winning a championship the following season!! Sorta reminds me of how I'll never understand why some are adamantly against dealing for Kevin Love.

Because Mike's more than your average commentator. He's got insight into the game.

Suffice it to say, if it were Tommy this would apply even more.

People opposed it because they become loyal to their own players, and feel that their own (in this case Al) are underappreciated.   Al was and is an incredibly gifted player. To this day, I have not seen a guy his size with those inside moves. But he was no where near the value of Garnett.

soooo basically....He really really thinks that we AREN'T getting K Love. I'm starting to believe it as well.
Stinks for the C's but oh well.
I think KLove has tried to force the T'Wolves hand to trade him to the C's but, I don't think they will  - why....jus because they wanna do...
it would be a moronic move but I can see that happening

what's funny is that in his interview, he mentions that Brad Stevens would want Carmelo on the C's (what great coach wouldn't)...what's wierd is that there might be a possiblity of getting Melo from the Knicks instead...I kinda think that Houston will go hard after him, but so might DA. (Phil Jax would do anything to NOT be a trade partner with the C's)

Thoughts?

If we try to make a deal with the Knicks for Melo would it have to be until free agency starts or could we get him before draft day?

Good question....I think we'd have to wait til after July 1st as Melo has until June 30th to exercise his ETO (someone else can correct me if I am wrong, but I think that's how it works.)

We do need scoring but can we get a guy that plays defense and does stuff for the good of the team?  I never seen Melo do anything for the good of the team.   He does score and is very talented but intangibles wise he is utterly lacking.
