After reading that Utah may look to trade down I thought why not offer green and 17 for 5?
We could use 5 plus filter picks and players on love and draft Gordon at 6?
Any other lotto teams willing to make this trade?
Charlotte?

I doubt Green has that kind of value. Besides, he's more useful to a playoff team that needs some extra scoring punch. Teams with low lottery picks are usually bad and don't need to add a high-salary guy who's not a game-changer.

Charlotte is a good option. They have detroits pick (9?).
Made the playoffs last year and could be looking to improve with vets instead of a rook.
Green would be a great fit as3rd option behind big al and walker.
Of course Gordon wouldn't be available at 9 but sRic would.

Line up after love and green trades
Rondo, Pressey
Bradley, Bayless
Pierce(w/mle), Saric
Love, Oly
Asik(te), Vitor/iverson

I proposed using #17 and another asset or two (Clips pick?) to move up to #9-10 and it was shot down pretty hard - justifiably, I think in retrospect.

I think it might be feasible to swap #17 and a future BKN pick - perhaps top 10 protected - for something in the #9-10 range. PHI might make that swap.

In that event I think we hope Gordon slips - we supposedly value him more highly than other teams in the 5-10 range - and try to pair him and Love in the frontcourt (perhaps with Gordon coming off the bench for a year or two behind Green, to develop).

Yeah, I think that is a good trade offer. Utah would consider that. Jeff Green would be a good complement to their young nucleus. I think J.Green is only worth a pick in the lower half of the lottery by himself so the #17 pick would help compensate for that.

I would be willing to do that trade if the K-Love trade falls through but I think I would be inclined to keep J.Green and the #17 if K-Love joins the team. Trading J.Green for that #5 is more of a rebuilding move. Getting K-Love would put Boston a move or two away from title contention and in that scenario I'd rather have Green than the rookie from #5 pick.

I think that would be a respectable offer for a pick in the #11-14 range.

I doubt it gets you inside the top 10. Just outside it is possible though.

We'll need Green for the Melo-trade. (We're going to make it with or without Love here). Just forget about trading him for a pick.

i suspect that ainge has a number of possible trades being negotiated. but whether he pushes the button probably depends on how the draft goes.

if gordon is available at 10, then he may pull off a trade for that spot. if not, then the potential trade dies. who knows? right now, even ainge is not sure which scenarios will play out and which will not. picks # 6 & 17 maybe part of any number of trades depending on how the draft unfolds.

we certainly wont know until shortly AFTER the draft what will unfold, and we probably will never know all the potential plans he has set up to cover a range of scenarios. i like that about ainge. he has lots of plans and possibilities to help the celtics.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
