Evaluating a potential T'Wolves deal

Theres been a lot of talk about this potential deal with the wolves, and the wolves saying arent really blown away with a potential deal for us.  A lot of us kind of laughed this off and it also sparked more discussion about how other teams offers could compare to ours..... of if Danny lowballing Minnesota.

So just a couple questions to see where everyones feelings are.

If you were the Wolves, what would you consider to be a low ball offer

As a C's fan, where would you draw the line and say, we're giving up way too much.

If I was a wolves fan, Danny offering the #6 with Sully, and KO would probably make me hang up the phone

As a C's fan Im prepared to offer as much as both picks this year, Sully and KO, and one future Brooklyn pick.   I dont think I could go any higher than that, especially in regards to picks.  Im fine subbing Green in for either KO or Sully.  Id try and talk Minny down from taking a Nets pick and taking the Clips pick.  I'm saying NO to taking Martin, unless theyre prepared to have Wallace somehow included in the deal.

i love jackie but i just dont know if i believe her here. Did she mention the exact parameters of the proposed trade? If ainge offered sully filler and 2 picks i can see why minnesota would dislike it.

If I were the Wolves, I might be asking for a veteran with at least two more years on his contract who would replace Love as the team's best player, a young player on his rookie-scale contract with upside to become an above-average starter, a top-ten lottery pick, and another pick.  (Actually, I'd be asking for more, but that's what I would be hoping to settle for.)  I would adjust the package if I could get a top three pick.

No, she wrote that the TWolves don't like what the Celtics can offer them, not what they have offered already.  The main thing that the Celtics can't offer them is a replacement star, so I suspect that Minnesota doesn't just want a collection of draft picks and Ainge may have to find a third team that can supply a veteran starter.

heard something similar to that from a local news source this morning.  most likely parrotting what jackie was saying.  seems Flip naming himself as coach has added a need to have a better roster so he doesn't look like an incompetent GM and coach--> can't blame bad play on the coach and can't blame the roster on the GM.

if Minn. is looking for veteran star in return then no one is trading for Love. they are not going to get that. the best vet that's been rumored to be offered by any team is david lee, and he's a glorified garbage man. the best young guys rumored to be available are clay Thompson & Sully. neither of which are guys that you'd build around as cornerstones.

other than that the rest of your scenario is about what I would consider Minn. should expect in return.

a few things that have been bothering me since trading for Love has become a reality.

1) this misconception that expiring contracts are this big asset for the T Wolves to acquire. cap space is nice, it is. but when was the last time a big name FA signed in Minn.?

2) that Minn. actually thinks expiring contracts are something that should matter right now for them.

3) Flip Saunders is going to mess this up some how.
