Suarez gets a 9 game ban (international), 4 month suspension, and fine.
Deserved more than a 4 month suspension since this is the 3rd time he has done this.

Wow.

Good for the US, we don't want Ghana to win the game.
It's not going to be any better for the US if the game is an overwhelming victory for Portugal.

Well, Portugal would need a considerably more overwhelming victory than Ghana, considering their current goal differential.
or the US needs to lose to Germany by more than 1.

Well it looks like 13 Liverpool games + 9 international games for a total suspension of 22 games, which is more than double what he got last time if I recall correctly.

Who is ready for a spanking?  8)
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

The match is on now. Rain and flood? Whatever, says the referee.

well yeah the goal differential is 5, so before other tiebreakers come into play, Portugal needs to make up 5.

This punishment is imposed by FIFA and the one you are talking about was handed out by the English FA, so they don't really bear comparison as they have different disciplinary processes and procedures.

Suarez should not be allowed onto a football pitch again without a clean bill of health from a psychiatrist or being required to wear a mouth guard. He's a danger to other players.

Anyone know what the suspension would be for a similar offence in the NBA? The last incident I can recall that disgusted me this much was Metta World Peace's attempt to decapitate James Harden a couple of years ago.

USA's lackluster back line has everyone I'm talking to on edge.

Obviously as a huge Azzuri fan I'm still rather bitter over that whole game.  But how Suarez managed to avoid anything other than a lifetime ban for what amounts to a '3rd strike' is beyond me.

That piece of trash should never again be allowed on a soccer field anywhere.
