This is the other side of the coin. Love's visit, it made us jubilant, thinking of a green and white savior hitting 3's and throwing out perfect first pitches at Red Sox games.
So we see the speed bump in the path and think, 'no, we'll circle around.'
Jackie Mac has it right in one regard, it's not a done deal. You can't just go home with the prize without the dance. This isn't a 50/50 lotto, we gotta work for it , trust that Danny will work for it. There is a method to this, a dance. And the music has barely started.
I don't think we can sign love via free agency. I don't think we'll have to. We've got one of the best packages on the table (excepting Cleveland, Chicago is a red herring), and we're among the most motivated to make it work. Nobody has both the volume in assets and incentive to get this done more than Danny. And Indont think anyone is more capable.
So it's not a done deal. I'm not gonna worry about it until after draft night.
