Eh, Mannix + "believed to be locked in" = weak rumor
Oh if I had a dime for every time some one posts a rumor and the source is shot down. A rumor is a rumor, whether its from a "weak" source or Wojo himself. It's still a discussion point and who knows, there have been sources out there quoted (Bleacher Report comes to mind), that people in these forums shot down, and low and behold, the rumor was actually true. Maybe we should keep the opinion of the originators to ourselves, and not just shoot everything down.
Who said that people shouldn't discuss the report?
I'm very skeptical of the source. Mannix is an interesting reporter and seems like a good guy, but his sources are weak, and even the report itself doesn't say definitively that Danny is "locked in". Rather, it's "believed" that that is Danny's thinking, i.e., the sources are reading tea leaves.
Not all sources are created equal, and the credibility of somebody spreading a rumor is a valid topic of discussion.
I think when certain members here shoot down the validity of a rumor, or the source of a rumor, it leads others not to want to comment and have the back and forth a forum might provide. I don't care if it's Mannix, Stephan A, or Wojo, a rumor comes from somewhere and the source (no one really knows who they are), could be a locker room kid who heard something. Credible, maybe or maybe not, but in todays social media age where sports writers, especially beat writers, make their living off of sources so they can be first to twitter with it, I wouldn't rule anyone out now.
I know, its frustrating to see a story, post it on here, and at times one of the first comments is, the source is worthless!
