We're getting Melo now? All the people talking about Love's lack of D's heads should implode if we landed that chump too.

I think Boston has a good chance at Love. But I also think people on this site need to take it down a level or two. We don't have him yet.

Totally agree .

Could have none of the above next year.

We could be without Love AND Rondo next year. I hope that's not what happens. I like our chances too but I'm not getting too worked up until all the dust is cleared.

According to John Madden the object of the game is to score more points than the other team. With Love and Melo getting passes from Rondo that very well could happen.

However, the other team would probably put up just as many against us.

Get Asik or Sanders and we are good to go. That team could compete v. Heat. Fun to fantasize.  Can see Spike Lee crying in his beer.

I think Carmelo Anthony is actually a very good defender at both 3 and 4.  Love, I am not so sure as I have not seen him enough to even know if the bad-D reputation is warranted.  Rondo is supposed to be a good defender too, although my personal opinion that his defense is a bit overrated.  Rondo is certainly not a bad defender.

Melo would be the big dog for sure though but I understand concerns about the mix and "coachability" of this combination.  Stephens would have his hands full that is for sure.  I don't think any of these potential problems would make DA shy away from this if it ever became a possibility.  If there is a chance to do this, you do this, and you hope you can figure out how to make it work.

Original post started with "Assuming..."

He may not be the best player out of the three but Rondo still leads the pack.  He's homegrown (like Pierce was), been here longer, he's the captain, and has a ring.  However the veteran leadership all three would bring would be off the chart.

Another star on our team people are forgetting is Brad Stevens, one of the better coaches in the NBA already.  Didn't he ranked #11 on the coach ranking despite our awful season?
