Nets open to trading C Brook Lopez.

Any chance the celtics and nets become trade partners two years in a row?

Kevin Love and Brook Lopez front court?

Brook Lopez and Sullinger?

What do you guys think?

Nah. This guy can't stay on the floor. If we can get him for cheap, sure. But I'm not giving up any first round picks or Sullinger/Olynyk for him. Which is probably what the Nets will be asking for.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

So they're open to trade D-Will and Lopez?

Jeez.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Only if we then flip Rondo for Rose and then go get Greg Oden.

They should be, one has lost a step or two and the other can't step onto the court.

Nets have to be open to retooling if the right deals come along.

I don't like K-Love + B-Lopez together. Too slow and weak defensively.

I don't think B.Lopez would fare any better with Jared Sullinger. Same problems.

Yeah all the same issues Lopez/Garnett had.

Lopez needs an fluid athlete next to him at PF.

I would be interested in Brook Lopez alongside a quick footed high quality defensive PF.

Someone like Josh Smith. Say (1) the #6 pick and G.Wallace as cap filler for Brook Lopez, and, (2) Jeff Green and Bogans' non-guaranteed cap filler contract for Josh Smith. Those two bigs plus Rondo as building blocks going forward. Add a fourth star on the wing somewhere down the road.

Probably better off being patient and waiting for a better opportunity to present itself further down the line but that could be an interesting alternative if the K-Love deal falls through.

Ainge could then use Sully in a trade to bring in a quality wing player. Maybe the Pacers would sign and trade L.Stephenson for the Celtics' trade exception + Sully. Give them a replacement for David West who is almost 34 years old and unlikely to be a main cog on their team for much longer.

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Avery Bradley
SF - Lance Stephenson
PF - Josh Smith
 C - Brook Lopez

Strong defensive + rebounding foundation to build team around. Lot of quickness and athleticism to counterbalance Brook Lopez' plodding ways. Probably short a scorer. Celtics would still have some draft picks and assets to get one though.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
My hope is that they trade him for picks and young players to start their rebuild thus improving the value of the picks they have already traded us.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
At first thought, one might think that the Nets would never make a deal with Boston this soon after getting 'ripped off'; however, it is entirely possible that they would like to have one of their picks back as well as an asset moving forward.

I also don't see why this would hinder a Love deal. Brook Lopez is definitely a decent rim defender and all-star quality offensively. Kevin Love is also very athletic. I agree you still probably need to bring in an enforcer type for back up center minutes (like the Heat have with Anderson), but a core of Rondo, Love, Lopez, Green, Sully or KO, maybe AB, and whatever we get in the draft is certainly decent. We would also still have our TPE to work with. I suppose that could go in a Kevin Martin deal.

While I know Lopez hasn't proven to be the healthiest player, he is very talented and a very smart player. I would welcome him to the Cs.

"Defensive" would immediately disqualify him.

JJ Hickson got run ahead of Faried for his defense, a fact that boogles my mind almost as much as Drew Gooden being a factor in the playoffs this year.

I don't have faith in Lopez' foot staying intact long enough to make it worth trading for him. Chronic foot fractures to a guy his size are a major warning sign.

Brook Lopez is everything wrong with the NBA salary structure.  Dude got a max contract so they could use the MLE.  If they paid him what he was actually worth, they wouldn't have been eligible to use the MLE.  Just silly.
