I have a shiner minnow fish and I believe it is about 1 or 2 years old, as I was given the fish from a co-worker who no longer wanted it. Anyways, the fish has been living by itself for at least a year, and as long as I have had it these last few months. My question is that I am curious if I get another fish to add to the tank, would that disrupt the fish's environment/niche that is presently in the tank, as it is probably used to being alone? I wouldn't want to cause any stress on the fish.
